Marinette's POV ♡ -

"So you're saying that you are leaving me as a partner?" I questioned as Chat Noir ducked his head down,  looking like he was 'upset'.

"M'lady, I need to. It's for your safety..." He said as he looked up, sighing.

Lately, Chat Noir has been acting distant. He wasn't as happy, he doesn't make puns, and it seems he can't patrol anymore. He's even started to escape more battles, making me fight on my own. I'd ask him why, but being the chicken that I am, I couldn't.

Suddenly, it started to rain slowly, becoming heavier every minute. He looked at me once again and I finally couldn't take it anymore.
I had enough.

"So, you're just going to stop fighting crime? You're just gonna say 'Hey, I'm too old and dumb for this, I'll leave and play with my dollies'.
Honestly, I expected this to come out of you. You were never really up for the job anyway."

"I could have replaced you by now.  You're useless. Goodbye Chat." I replied and took out my yoyo, throwing it at a large object, and swinging myself away.

I could see that he was crying. I looked back at him again, seeing him wipe his face with his arm.
I continued to swing away, all of the rotten things I said building up inside of me. I sighed and landed in an unknown area, which looked like a cliff.

I carefully sat on the edge and pulled up my legs to my knees. I sighed deeply, watching the rain fall down below the cliff.

What have I done?

---------------

Adrien's POV ♡ -

I wiped my eyes with the black leather catsuit I had on. I plopped onto the surface of the rooftop and started to cry harder.

I really screwed up.

I couldn't let Ladybug know that I was in trouble. I couldn't let Ladybug know that Hawkmoth had control over my actions. I couldn't let her know that my father was Hawkmoth, making the situation worse.

I couldn't let her know that he made previous alliances with some of the old villains he controlled to take care of me. I couldn't let her know that if I disobeyed their actions, they would kill her.

I couldn't let her know that I was turning into a monster.

I continued to sob, crying even harder than before because the thoughts of everyone flooded back to my mind. Everything that has happened to these few weeks made me realize all the things I've done for Ladybug.

Ladybug. God.. I could talk about her endlessly. Her jet black hair, her beautiful bluebell eyes, and her smile. God, her smile. I love the way she talks, acts, and everything she does.
That's it, I couldn't take it anymore.

I stood up quickly and hopped off into the distance. I needed Ladybug, I didn't care if I would be punished or not.

I pressed a button on my batton as her location showed up on the map. I tucked the batton safely back beside my belt and continued to hop away.

I needed to tell her.

Marinette's POV ♡ -

I continued to sit there, admiring the cliffside. My mind flooded with thoughts of Chat Noir. Why was he causing so much pain to me right now?

I sighed deeply and felt another object press against me on the right side of me.

It was him.

He silently sat down and dangled his feet from the cliff. I looked at him slightly, and my heart immediately broke.
