*Alysha's POV*

I ran out of the waiting room after Calum found out I fancy him as fast as possible, it not being that fast due to the fact that this is a hospital. As soon as I get out of the main entrance, I scan the area to find the closest bush to kneel down behind and hide. I notice a whole garden of bushes just by the parking lot and I run as fast as my feet can hold up.
I kneel down, take a deep breath and collapse. Calum can NOT find me here, if he does I will literally fling to my car and drive off. I can't handle Calum right now, not with Thomine laying in a coma right inside. Not with knowing she's about to die. Not with knowing she did die for a solid 5 minutes. Not with knowing her wrist is cut open, and the fact that it might still be seeping some blood out of her arm.
I peek though the leaves and search for Cal. Hmm, nowhere to be seen ...
I lift my upper body just a little bit to get a better view of the parking lot and loan, but the boy is nowhere to be found. I swear I heard him run after me ...

I sit down in a more comfortable position and breathe. How is all this happening right now? Why? Why did I act like such a douchebag towards her yesterday? Why did I ignore her today? Why didn't I figure out this would happen??

I hear footsteps coming closer, but I don't bother paying attention. It could be anyone! This is a public place, there's people here every single day.
I feel my eyes dry up, then water is blocking my sight. I notice it's getting difficult to breathe through my nose, so I open my mouth, but all that escapes is a small whimper. A little noise calling for help. Support.

"Hey," I hear a clear voice say beside me. Oh, great. Hallelujah. Just what I needed.
I slowly look up to Calum and stand up before him.
"I'm sorry. I can't do it," I whimper and walk three steps backwards before I run towards my car. I fidget with the car keys before I manage to open the car, just before Calum reach me. He put his hand on the handle, but I already locked it. He then press his palm against the glass and looks at me with sad eyes. I can see his eyes getting more glossy by every second, but I can't handle Calum crying right now! It'll kill me!
I start the engine and look at Calum as I gently put pressure on the gas pedal and roll away from the crying boy. I mouth 'I'm sorry' as I roll away, and he sure as hell noticed because he's now crying. I can hear his sobs.

What the hell am I doing?? My Calum is standing before me, CRYING, searching for support! Why am I driving away??
I stop the car and unlock it. I just put my head down, hoping he will get the hint. He did, because he is soon enough sitting by my side in the passenger seat and stroking my arm gently.
"I'm sorry for all that is happening, but you can't drive in your condition. It's a call for death! What if Thomine wakes up, only to find out you died mean while? Please, don't drive anywhere. Just stay here with me, let's wait for Thomine. Let just be together right now, I know we both need it," he whisper. He gets a few voice cracks in between, but manages pretty well.
"I'm just going to get some fries and a milkshake. I just need to get out of here . I know she's in that room, fighting for her life via a machine, and I can't do anything about it! It breaks me! I just need a distraction. I just need to think of something else than a bloodstained wrist and a dying girl in a hospital bed. Please," I explain loosely and look at him with grey eyes.
"Fine, but just down to the closest McDonald's, then straight back!" He says firmly and squeeze my arm gently.
I faintly smile at him and kick down the gas pedal to drive down to the main road.
Only on the way to the other side of the road I almost crash two times, but I honestly don't really care. I drive slowly to keep control over everything, and it goes fine. Just fine. The opposite of Thomine. I feel my eyes water again, and I lose sight of the road. I hear Calum yell something, but I can't hear him. I only hear a loud ringing in my ears, the only thing in my blurry sight is the forest becoming dangerously close. I feel my neck getting thrown back against the seat and hear the airbag system blow out air after the pressure in the background. The ringing is incredibly loud and I have a stinging feeling in my chest.
I look down to see a vine red coloured shirt instead of a light blue one. My feet are numb and my arm won't work. I look over at Calum who has a branch pressed through his forehead, blood still squirting everywhere. I look back down and make sense of the change of colours and see .... Thomine?

My sight is blurry as fuck, but I swear, that is Thomine! What the hell is she doing out here?? Ashton didn't even call to say she woke up? Or did I 'fall asleep'?
