[chapter seven]balloons

[his heart beat started to increase, it went from his normal steady beat to a quickening one]

lolita holly sat on her kitchen bench mixing the cake batter occasionally dipping her finger in to get a taste while stanley sat on the bench in front of her staring at her actions

"you're going to get sick" stanley spoke as the girl dipped her finger into the mix again before licking the chocolate flavoured mix off

"but it taste so good" she exclaimed looking up at him with a toothy grin,chocolate was smeared along her lips and some how along her cheek

it was not hidden that lolita holly wasn't a very clean baker,her kitchen floor was covered in flour and butter along with her and stanley

"it only taste good because of the sugar" he answered back in a moderate tone, she frowned at how unenthusiastic he was about everything

"lighten up a bit would 'ya stanley" she says hopping off the bench her grip tight on the bowl not wanting to make the mess they were in even bigger

"i am, we just aren't doing anything i find fun" stanley says swinging his legs up and down as he watched the girl tip the cake batter into a greased tray

"what do you find fun?" lolita questioned, she opened her oven in the process before sliding the tray inside and closing the door "i like to dance" she says rushing off the her record player

oh, pretty woman began to play loudly as lolita started to dance around leaving stanley to stare with a small smile plastered on his face

"i was going to say i enjoy bird watching" he says over the music, lolita turned around and made her way toward the boy making sure to do multiple spins in the process

lolita grabbed his hands and pulled him off the bench before encouraging him to dance along with her, at first stanley was reluctant because he was not the best dancer but he gave in after he realised lolita wasn't the best either

their hands were still slightly entwined as he started to sway and copy her movements, lolita nodded her head as she watched him slowly grasp onto the concept

"that a boy" she laughed, stanley laughed with her with a smile on his face

he felt joy arise in his body, lolita released the boy's left hand and did a twirl before releasing his right hand and falling back onto the couch

"was that fun enough?" she says out of breathe,stanley continued to stand up as his eyes were on the girl

"no, well maybe just a little but bird watching is more practical and more fun!" stanley explained with a grin on his face "sometime you should come with me"

lolita felt her heart beat increase as she admired the boy talking about something he enjoyed, his eyes were lit up as he talked about a bird he saw on his last trip
