Seduction Lies Within

The surrounding landscape was bathed in the soft moonlight, light streaking across the tips of the trees and the roof of the safe house. Delphine and Cosima sat cross legged under the sprinkling of stars that reflected in Delphine's eyes as she looked out. Cosima observed a faint trace of concern through her otherwise calm state and nudged her shoulder,

"Hey what's wrong?" she asked tilting her head.

"Just thinking about everything" Delphine replied looking to Cosima. "We only found one man and whatever Rachel can find out from her plan-" She paused as if searching for the words and shook her head to end her sentence unfinished.

"We still know more than we did when we started..." Cosima assured her with an obvious tinge of positivity in her voice. Delphine's face settled,

"It feels like the tip of the iceberg and whatever we find out next is going to be beyond what we can imagine; Just think about what they did with the Castor clones compared to the Leda's. They were militarising them and DYAD was testing on them. We don't even know where the missing clones are or who is taking them."

Cosima placed her hand on Delphine's whose hands had been rapidly moving as she spoke, as if grappling for the words in the air.

"But we will find out, and we're safe here" Cosima said scrunching her eyebrows together as tears struck up in Delphine's eyes.

"I can't help but think you aren't..." Her voice cracked and she bit her lip as tears began to flow down her cheeks, the carved lines glistening in the moonlight and her face broken from sadness. Cosima's face softened and she pulled her lover into an embrace, kissing her head and running her fingers through the curls slowly to comfort to her. She rested her head on Delphine's shutting her eyes as her lover began to speak again.

"I know I shouldn't fret over it as you are safe, but a part of me always worries that you'll go missing like the other sisters...I don't know what I'd do. We don't even know if they're still alive Cosima!" She muttered through her tears. Her throat clenched up as she allowed a sob to leave, wiping her trembling hands across her cheek to gather the tears.

"You'll hurt yourself thinking like that. Don't allow yourself to think up all these situations and 'what ifs'. If you don't know it for certain then try not to worry too much about it because it'll just upset you even more." Cosima spoke, placing her hand on her face, Delphine leaning into it gently as Cosima's thumb wiped away a stray tear. "You have a brilliant mind but you over think so much... I hate to see you like this. We need to stay strong" she kissed her gently. Their voices had turned into a soft whisper that was sometimes carried away by stray gusts of wind.

"I'll try ma cherie" Delphine whispered, offering a small smile. "I just know you want to help Sarah with whatever happens and I support that... but I need to protect you"

"You can protect me, but you can't wrap me in bubble wrap for all of my life. If it's necessary I'll put myself in danger if it protects all the sisters." Delphine looked at her and managed a small laugh in response to what Cosima just said, almost not taking it seriously.

"I love you"

"I love you too" Cosima replied, a warm smile spreading across her face."Wherever they are, whoever is taking them... we'll find out soon enough. Just take it a day at a time, today we know who the hacker is, maybe tomorrow we'll know why."

"Maybe." Delphine agreed the sadness in her face lessening from Cosima's comfort. She looked out at the landscape, tufts of white hovering in the deep blue sky, illuminated by the moon. "They could be anywhere out there. That's even if they are in the same place, but we can speculate over location when Terrence gives Rachel some information." She looked at Cosima and smiled.
