"Danny!" I say when I walk down stairs to see my best friend sitting on the couch. I run to his open arms and stand with my arms tight around his neck.

"Surprise," he says and kisses my cheek.

"Why didn't you call me!" I say, without letting go of him but hugging him tighter.

"You're gonna choke me," he says and I pull away," I wanted it to be a surprise."

"I missed you so much," I say and hug him again but then let go quickly," let's go out for lunch."

"Let's do it," he says and I leave him to catch up with my mom while I get dressed. I put on my destressed black shorts and a white v-neck with my white converse. I end up leaving my hair straightened instead of tying it into a bun or a ponytail.

"Where are we going?" He asks when we get into my car.

"Wherever you want," I tell him.

"Sushi House sounds good," he says while reading their menu. He pulls up the directions and we head down the freeway to the Sushi House.

"California roll," I tell the sushi chef person.

"Spicy tuna roll," Danny says and the sushi chef starts making our food as we walk back to our table.

"So how are you?" I ask when we sit down.

"Great," he says.

"How's Jonah?" I ask. Yeah I know, my brother has the same name as Danny's boyfriend.

"Oh," he says," we broke up."

"Aw," I say," I'm sorry."

"That's fine," he says," your mom said you had a break up too?"

"Yeah," I say," turns out dating an older man isn't always a good thing."

"How old is Scott?" He asks.

"21," I say," but it's not even that big of an age difference, just four years."

"So what happened?"

"He was cheating on me," I say and Danny's expression changes.

"God, I'm so sorry," he says.

"Yeah well I'm with someone else," I tell him," you have to meet Ashton."

"Ashton?"He says," looks like I do."

"What about lunch tomorrow?" I ask," you, me, and Ashton."

"Perfect," he says and the waitress walks to our table with our big plates of sushi and sets them in front of us.

"Anything else new?" He asks.

"I'm thinking of getting another tattoo," I say," I might get my old one removed."

"Your sun?" He asks," why would you get rid of that?"

"I don't know," I say," when I go running in a sports bra it looks weird."

"That's because you got it on your rib cage," he says," and it doesn't look weird."

"I shouldn't get it removed?" I ask and take half the sushi in my mouth.

"No way," he says.

"Are you sure you don't want to stay in the guest room?" My mom asks when we get home after lunch, a movie, sight seeing, and walking around the mall.

"Nope," Danny says," my hotel is pretty close."

"Okay," she says," have a good night."

"See you tomorrow," I say," I'll just call you and tell you when we'll go for lunch."
