Seeing no way out, I slipped my fingers into Liam's warm palm. I couldn't help but notice how his hand seemed to dwarf my own. He slightly squeezed my fingers before withdrawing his hand from my own and tucked it behind my back, and began leading me through the edges of the club. He asked me if I wanted some air, his breath sending shivers down my spine. Feeling slightly lightheaded, I decided it would be a good idea. He remained to the side of me though, acting as a bodyguard. He found openings I wouldn't have been able to see if I was on my own. He led me up a flight of stairs and down a dimly lit hallway, which gave me the creeps. He opened a door, random as it seemed, ad invited me through the thresh hold in a gentlemanly way. I kept my head down, but eyed him from the corner of my eye. He leaned his body against the railing and looked out to the parking lot. I followed suit, twisting my hand nervously along the cold railing.
“Are you going to tell me your name?” His alluring voice suddenly asked, breaking the silence. I gulped visibly, staring at my hands. I was scared, the man beside me, scared me. But at the same time made me feel extremely safe. When his hand was on my back, all I could see, to focus on was the warm tingling feeling echoing its way up my skin. Though I could still feel a part of my mind telling me to not give him any information. That he was dangerous and unfortunately, my mind and my heart were not listening to each other tonight.
“Bea. My name is Bea.” I breathed out, watching as the warm air from my mouth turned into fog and dissipated into the night. That reminded me of the frostiness in the air that seemed to hold tonight. From the corner of my eye, I noticed Liam face me, and I assumed he had lent his muscular body against the railing of the balcony, because his body completely relaxed. He crossed his arms over his chest and breathed out slowly, letting his breath warm the side of my face.
“How’d you get in here love?” His sultry voice, rumbled deep through my chest.
“You're bodyguard isn't very good.” The balcony didn't show much, simply the parking lot and the place where the line once was. I guess everyone gave up on getting in. Liam let out a bark of a laugh, at my suggestion.
“I can assure you he is very good at what he does. I think he might have been distracted actually.” He was the one distracting me at the moment, and I wondered briefly if he knew what it was exactly that he was doing to me. He was making it hard to concentrate on his words, when his voice lulled my already relaxed body into a state of sleep.
“What makes you think that?” My reply came out to slow and defiantly a little too late.
“Well, if two extremely beautiful, well-dressed birds approached me and used their super powers on me, I would be distracted as well. I don't blame the poor bloke.”
“If we have super powers, shouldn't you have a shield of some sorts?” I asked him playfully, turning my full attention to him. His brown eyes twinkled in the light as he chuckled at my comment.
“You broke my shield darlin'” He held eye contact with me for at least a couple of seconds before I broke it to stare down at my feet passively.
“Are you feeling better?” He stepped forward, touching his left hand to my waist and his right hand to my cheek. While we were in the club and I was being introduced to them, I started to lose my breath. I was panicking. I think it was because all five boys felt off, like they were hiding something dangerous yet they weren't really hiding it.
“Yes. Thank you.” I looked up at him from under my eyelashes and asked him a question, I wasn't sure he would answer.
“Are you boys dangerous?” His face didn't change, like he wasn't surprised I had asked that. In fact, he brushed his right hand down my cheek and followed it to my neck, and spun me around so suddenly, I was pushed against the iron railings of the balcony. His right hand rested on the space where my shoulder met my neck, his left squeezed my hip lightly, but still enough to know not to talk.
