2.Dreaming in Orin

I heard voices. Voices that belonged to people I didn't recognize. And the strange thing was I didn't recognize where I was. How did I get here?

The hallways had pillars which seemed to be made of gold. The walls adored lavish paintings and the ceiling was intricately carved with creatures some of which I recognized and some which looked out worldly.

The windows which seem to touch the sky held murals of battles forgotten with time. Of kings and queens of the bygone era. Some of them seem to come to life.

Where am I?

Once again I heard a voice and hid behind a suit of armour.

'We must tell Akinli to bring the children to the sanctuary immediately! It's no longer safe for them in the mortal world. They could get killed!' A man who might be the age of my uncle said.

He wore what seemed like hunting gear while walking beside an elderly man who seemed to be dressed in what seemed to be a monks dress

'Warn Starkworth immediately we can't lose any more Guardians. Order Akinli to come with the children to Orin at once!' The older man said.

Starkworth? Guardians? Who are these people?

'As you wish grandmaster' The man said and suddenly my vision blurred and I woke up in my bed with a start covered in a cold sweat.

I wiped the sweat beading my forehead. I looked around to see my own bedroom. I signed then sat up in bed and rubbed my eyes.

That was a really weird dream. But for some peculiar reason, it felt so real. The paintings on the walls, the carvings on the roof, it felt like I could touch them. That place reminded me of something. Maybe something I had read out of a book. But my imagination can't be that wild right?

But before I could place my finger on exactly where that place was my room door flew open. And Becca shouted 'She's awake! Oh my god, Jules are you alright? You scared us out of our skins! If not for your brother I don't know how we would have got you here!'
She said coming and sitting at my bedside.

Just then Luce and my brother came in 'Jules are you alright?' Daniel came to me in two long strides and hugged me tight then put one hand on my head and stroked my hair with brotherly affection. 'For a moment you scared me back there' he said and from the way, he said it I knew he was still scared. After all, I'm his only family apart from uncle Geo.

Then Luce came up to me and said 'Come on get up I've made some sandwiches with whatever I could find in your kitchen'.

Thank the gods I was starving! Aren't my friends and my brother simply wonderful?

While eating I got to know that my uncle had gone to some important business and would be back the next day and Martha our housekeeper was on a day off.

I didn't tell them about my dream some weird feeling held me back from telling them.

Well, that's weird.

After a while, Daniel went to his room and then it was time for Becca and Luce to go so I got off my bed and walked them to the door.

We live in Blackwell manor with our uncle. Becca and Luce loved the place as much as I did because it looked like a castle with the chandeliers and extravagant paintings. The corridors were floored with lush carpets and lamps lit the hallways. Sometimes I and Becca built tents in one of the many corridors or in the huge garden around the manor.

At the door both the girls looked at me then came forward and hugged me tightly. 'Promise you'll call if you need us' Becca says and Luce adds 'We're both are here for you no matter what happens'

'Promise' I tell them both. Soon they both were gone and I slowly walk back to my room

I laid on my bed and debated whether I should tell about my dream to Dan. I never hid things from him.

After debating a lot I decided that I would tell him in the morning and went to bed.

When suddenly I felt as if something on my book glowed. I rub my eyes and look at it and then it vanished as soon as it appeared.

That's weird

It was the symbol I drew in class today. I put my book aside and told myself you're just tried and imaging things and then I fell asleep as soon as my head hit my pillow and let myself back into the world of dreams...
