Julie
All the blood drained out of my face. I couldn't believe what was happening. My life which I had thought to be perfectly normal was turning upside down.
'But...but you're George Lockwell. Our father's brother. Uncle Geo...'
Uncle Geo no. Uncle"Akinli" came and sat down beside me.
'Juel it's true. I'm not George Lockwell or come to that point neither are you and Dan Lockwells.'
He must have seen the confusion clearly written on my face for he signed and started to say 'dear there is a lot to things you need to learn about but for now just trust me when I say it was for your own safety...and the only way I could repay your father. By loving and caring for you both.'
I could only nod. Then I reached over and took my specs from the bedside table. My head was starting to ache and even though I doubted it was because of the absence of specs it still felt good to wear them.
I then turned to look at Edward. He was speaking over the phone with someone. Most probably his mom. I still couldn't believe it was true. That all of this is true. My life which had always been so ordinary had suddenly become utter chaos.
A half-hour or so had passed when I suddenly saw a lady rush into the infirmary. She was really pretty actually with all her hair tied up in a messy bun. She was wearing a pair of jeans and a white blouse with sleeves reaching her arms and ballet flats. She looked around tensed then her eyes landed on Edward and she rushed to him. Edward seeing his mum tried to get up but winced and was suddenly tackled by the bear hug his mum was giving him.
'Hey Ma' he said out of breath. I smiled at them. She then released him and then checked him over. 'What happened? Why didn't you call me before?! Do you even know how worried I was?'
Edward signed and said 'Ma I haven't even been able to think straight with all that's going on and speaking of not telling stuff I think you seem to have a lot more to tell than I do' he said. She gave him a confused look.
But before she could say anything someone said 'Celine?' at that, she gasped her eyes went wide and she spun around her hands flew to her mouth.
Uncle Akinli was still beside my bed. He looked at her as if he were in a dream and she wasn't actually supposed to be here.
She stared at him in utter shock and said 'No...I thought...you never came back...how?' She looked like she was on the verge of tears.
They just stood there staring at each other and after what felt like an eternity my uncle came closer and grabbed her shoulders a bit awkwardly as if he didn't know what he was doing but gently and made her sit on a chair beside Edward's bed and sat down beside mine. She looked like she was on the verge of tears and Uncle didn't look far from doing that either.
After composing himself he said 'I thought... they took you away... I never thought I would see you again...'
'They didn't. I thought you were gone and feared they would come for me next... So I ran away from Orin and never looked back...' She said and this time tears flowed from her eyes.
I turned to look at Edward who was awfully silent. He was just looking at his mom in shock. Evidently, this was something even he didn't know.
Then Akinli said 'I looked for you everywhere. I tried looking for your aura in all the known eight galaxies... I thought it was wiped away but never did I imagine you would actually cloak it. Hide from everyone for sixteen years.'
Aura?
It's like a beacon. But in this case, the beacon is your soul. It signifies your existence.
