RHETT'S POV:
The airplane ride was short and comfortable. Nicole leaned her head on my shoulder and fell asleep, like old times. Jade read her book while I enjoyed the quiet and peaceful time spent with my sister. I feel her breathing, and remember the times when we were kids and we would have contests, seeing who could be quieter when we breathed, trying to silence the whistling of our breaths. Then I think about Taylor, i wonder if she has any memories like that, anything that she can think back to and smile about. As soonas she gets out, I will give her memories to smile about.
TAYLOR'S POV:
Two more days. Two more days then Jacob and I leave. He tells me he will be back, that he always is, but I believe in him, I believe that we can both stay strong together. It is freetime, and we both sit together on the sofa, Jacob teaching me new chords. But one thing lies unopened in my mind, itching to get out. My father's visit.
He is wearing a suit. The suit that he usually wears to big meetings. it makes him look professional, as if he knows what he is doing. He rises from his seat and opens his arms wide for a hug. What the hell is he doing? Has he forgotten everything? I stay in my spot, my feet firmly planted on the linoleum.
"My baby girl, I am so glad you're okay."
"You're a little late."
"I'm here though, aren't I?"
"Doesn't mean I want you to be."
"Oh come on, I'm your father."
"Fuck off."
"Watch your mouth."
"Watch yourself. I'm done with this, you are so full of bullshit."
"Wait, this is important."
"Ugh, what is it."
"When you get released, tomorrow, you will be coming home with me. Your mother has some things to take care of so you wil be riding up to Denver with me." A hand flies up to my mouth.
"What the fuck?! You can't just do that!" All I remember is taking off down the brightly-lit hallways, my slippers sliding against the linoleum, my hands running along the walls to help me keep my balance. I can't go back, I won't go back. I need help. I need help. Help.
there will be an update tomorrow night, dont flip out! thanks for reading, sorry everything has been so short, but i will make everything longer I swear.
