Chapter 2:Little Toy Guns

~Three Days Later~

Braelee's p.o.v

I walk outside and see everyone already working and some of rick's group on the fense getting rid of the walkers and I see lori helping too I pass her my water bottle she shakes her head and says "I'm good brae" I raise a eyebrow at her and she snickers and takes it anyway and I grab my notebook from up against the fence and she asks "what do you write about?".

I smile at her as carl stands beside me and I reply "I write poems,songs even short stories and I sometimes draw" she smiles and she drags her steak through the fence killing another walker "can you sing one for us?" I shake my head "maybe at dinner I will" she giggles and I put my hand on her stomach and I ask "the future of the grimes family".

Her eyes widden and I see tears form in the corners of her eyes she walks away I look at carl and maggie says from beside him "it's not rick's" I put my hand on my forehead "oh my god i'm such a idiot" carl shakes his head and replies "it's alright brae you didn't know" I bite my lower lip and he spats "she cheated on my dad with his best friend".

I look at maggie and she shakes her head and maggie says "rick was in a coma in the beginning she thought he was dead according to shane and she slept with him" I roll my eyes and kill another walker "it's not lori's fault shane took advantage of her" carl slams the pipe onto the ground "it is her fault my dads side of the bed didn't even get cold until she moved on".

I roll my eyes "carl she's still your moma do you wanna know the last words I said to my mom? I hate you stop meddling into my business it's my life if I wanna screw it up let me she got hit by a drunk driver and I haven't seen her since i'd give anything to tell her how sorry I am you just get one moma you don't get another" his eyes sadden and he walks away from me maggie smiles at me and she asks me from beside me "your moma didn't get hit by a drunk driver did she?".

I look up to her bright green eyes "yeah she did after that happened I was so upset with myself I didn't go see her and the apocalypse happened the next day but my parents were divorced that's it as long as carl believes it that's all I need so it had some form of truth" she smiles at me and she whispers "yer secrets safe with me" after we clear out the walkers from building up we take a break in the cafeteria and I was passing out food and as I sit down next to lori I whisper to her "i'm sorry if you want I can still sing that song for ya?".

She smiles at me with a nodd and I show her my songs and she says "what's little toy guns?" I smile and I reply "it's one of my favorite one's is that the one?" she nodds and axel passes me my guitar and beth says "I can sing backup" I smile at her "get the feel of the song and you can sing along to the chorus" she nodds and I pass her the notebook and I start to play on the guitar.

I feel all eyes on me and I look up and see rick leaning against the doorway his blue eyes meet mine and he gives me a smile as I sing the first lyric.

In between the coats in the closet

She held on to that heart-shaped locket

Staring at a family, flawless

I smile as everyone's eyes was on me
