*Ashley POV*
As I pulled up to the hotel carpark Tobin looked into the lobby and groaned.
"What's up?"
"Oh nothing. I just, ugh, I don't know. I just really don't feel like team bonding tonight after the post-game meeting. I'd rather just snuggle up into blankets and watch kids movies."
"Oh man that sounds so good right now" I agreed. "Ah.. I mean like for you, like after your long game and all that.." I continued trying to avoid her thinking I was insinuating I join her to skip the meeting.
"Well, I mean it's not like you had a particularly light day either. I saw you tending to Moe with a head injury before the game, and then, like all of my drama"
"Oh... yeah. You saw that?"
"Ah yeah, I mean, like peripheral vision or whatever.. I wasn't stalking you or anything creepy like that.."
Before I got a chance to reply a brunette with a face full of freckles knocked on the car window.
"Oi loser. You getting out the car or are you gonna keep flirting with the staff?"
Kelly O'Hara. Trust her to come and make things awkward.
"Oh shut up Kelley!" Tobin replied, blushing furiously before turning away from me. Kelly noticed and skipped back happily to Hope who was shaking her head at her girlfriends antics.
"She's right I should probably get inside""Yeah definitely. Wait there, I'll come around and give you a hand. We don't want anymore issues of you trying to stand up alone!"
As we stumbled along to the elevator Tobin's breath was warm against my neck sending goosebumps forming all over my skin. I could feel the warmth from her skin and desperately wondered what it would feel like to rip her shirt off and explore her abdomen that was surely sun-kissed and toned.
Finally making it to the elevator she let go of me to give me a break from her weight and latched onto the rail inside. As soon as we started moving though the body beside me slid to the ground seeking comfort on the tiled floor. It was only three floors up so I don't know why she bothered, especially since I was going to have to help her up. Not that I minded of course..
Once we entered the meeting room cheers followed along with a concerned Allie Long who ran up to greet Tobin. She took Tobin's weight off me and helped her to sit down. Since she didn't need me anymore I assumed I proceeded to lean against the wall on the other side of the room with the rest of the medical staff to listen to the meeting.
What Jill was saying was interesting, for sure, but I could help but notice a certain brunette watching me as I stared intently at the slide show. I willed myself to avoid turning around, knowing if I did even the slightest bit I'd blush and my supervisor behind me would notice.
Eventually I couldn't take it anymore and glanced Tobin's way at which she motioned me to join her.
"Hey, I'm ah..not..'feeling well'.." she whispered in my direction, trying not to disturb the meeting anymore than she already had."What do you mean? You're going to be sick or your ankle" I replied, confused.
"Um.. both I guess?" She replied questioning my confusion. "Can we go upstairs and you like, check my ankle again or something?"
"Yeah, if you're not feeling good its probably a good idea. I'll let my supervisor know so she can tell Dawn and Jill when they're done."*Tobins POV*
As the meeting progresses I couldn't keep my eyes off her. She looked breathtaking the way she was leaning against the wall and nodding along with what Dawn and Jill were rambling about. Honestly, why was I even at this meeting. I hardly played the game today and I didn't get to watch the rest so I've got no clue what they're even talking about.
