Chapter Twenty-Four

Elijah...

My cars been sitting here running for about ten minutes now. We've sat in silence all this time because honestly I don't know what to say to her. Swallowing down the lump in my throat I glance over at Raven. The doctors visit went well and now our time together has to come to an end.
"Hey..." I call out and she shyly glances over at me through her red hair.
"Hm?" She hums softly and I lick my lips.
"It was nice doing this with you... it's good that we can get along like this..." I say and she smiles a little before nodding. "I um... I wanna take you to dinner or lunch sometime... of course I'd have to talk to Analia about it but I'm sure she'll be fine with it. She knows you're pregnant with our baby so she shouldn't be upset with me. Or hopefully not to upset. Actually I don't think she'll be upset at all because-"
"Eli." She giggles cutting me off. I blush and glance over at her.
"Yes?" I ask as I stare into her green eyes and I see them sparkle.
"You're blabbering... how about me and Analia go out... to clear some of the tension between us." She says and I bite into my bottom lip as I think it over.
"That's a good idea." I say softly before nodding my head. "I'll talk to Ana about it." I smile and she does also once more.

An awkward silence comes over us once more as we stare and I clear my throat. "Alright well I guess-" She cuts me off once more but this time with her lips. Her hands grasp the sides of my face and she pulls at mine hungrily. My eyes widen and I sit frozen for a second. "Raven... Raven!" I call out between her kisses and she quickly comes to a halt. Her face blushes a deep red as she pulls away.
"I'm sorry!" She says before forcing the car door open. Before I can reach out to her it's slamming back shut and she running towards the house.
"Shit." I curse at myself as I quickly unstrap my seatbelt. Pushing my door open I follow after her.

"Raven!" I call out to her as she hurries up the front steps. Before she can get her door it's pulled open and Melissa stands there.
"What did you do?!" She asks and I furrow my brows.
"Nothing... I-I don't know what's wrong." I say and she shakes her head at me as Raven runs past her.
"You don't know what's wrong? You didn't even try to give her a second chance after you two apparently broke up! You're a dog I don't even know why she's still associating with you. You're a horrible man and most likely going to be a dead beat father." She says and I clench my jaw.
"Melissa shut up!" I hear Raven yell. I shake my head and turn around.
"Tell her to call me." I grumble before slipping into the car and slamming it shut behind me.

"Baby? Eli what's wrong?" Analia asks as she follows me up the stairs.
"Nothing baby girl." I mumble as I step into our bedroom. I pull my shirt over my head and toss it into the hamper before working to undo my belt buckle.
"I know you're lying but I'm going to let it go." She says softly and I glance at her as I let my pants fall around my ankles. "Taking a nap?" She asks and I nod my head before crawling into the bed. I slip beneath the comforter and place my hands behind my head. A slow smile spreads across my lips as I drink in her appearance. One of my white tees decorated her frame and she had let her curls just flow freely about.
"What're you still doing over there? Come lay with me." I say and she blushes before climbing onto the bed. Her body rests on top of mine beneath the blanket and I reach for the T.V remote. I turn on the T.V and switch the channel to Cartoon Network. Adventure Time plays as I set the remote back down on the side dresser. Wrapping my arms around her small frame, I smile when her face snuggles into my check. Her warm breath tickles my skin as she breathes in and out softly.
