‘5:21am’ Dan’s alarm clock read. We got in at 3am from the Blink concert and I’ve had a crappy 2 hours sleep? I can’t even get back to sleep. Dan’s face… It looks as if he’s having a nightmare. He’s clutching his pillow, his face is bright red, veins popping out of his neck, he’s sweating uncontrollably.
“No” he whispers, slowly getting louder each time. He starts to roll his head in his pillow, shouting “no” at the top of his lungs. He doesn’t even wake up, he’s just crying. His eyes are squinted as if they are trying to fight back the tears.
“Dan?” I whispered in his ear, shaking him gently. Nothing. Not even a budge. “Dan?” I said louder, but still nothing. I couldn’t help but worry. It felt as if he was getting hotter, his body temperature rocketed up every time I touched him. I started to shake, he’s never like this. I picked up my phone and Josh was the first person I called.
“Ugh, what Molly? Its 5:30am.”
“Its Dan. There’s something wrong, he won’t wake up Josh!”
“Give me 5 minutes, I’ll be right round”
Them 5 minutes felt like 5 hours. Either Josh was taking his time or time was dragging. I couldn’t help but pace up and down across the landing.
BANG! BANG!
I ran down the stairs and opened the front door.
“He’s upstairs, Josh. He won’t wake up. He’s burning up, crying, rolling about and everything!”
Josh ran up the stairs, missing two steps each time. I followed right behind him, in floods of tears.
“Dan? Dan?” Josh said, trying what I did. No response. He didn’t even move. He just lay there, as red as anything, sweating like crazy.
“Right, I’m calling an ambulance.” Josh said, pulling out his phone.
“No, wait. What happens if its a nightmare, Josh?”
“Molly, I’ve seen what he’s like when he has a nightmare and this is nowhere near it. He needs help.” Josh dialled 999 and called for an ambulance. “Shouldn’t be long now. When we get to the hospital, I’ll ring Max and let him know and tell him to pass the message on.”
“What about his mum Josh? We were supposed to spend the day with her, so she could meet me.”
“Er, I guess I’ll let her know later on.”
The ambulance soon arrived and put Dan onto a stretcher, carried him down the stairs and into the ambulance.
“Sorry” the paramedic said. “You can’t ride with us.”
“But I’m his fiancée!” I screamed.
“Molly, you’ll come with me”
We wasted no time jumping into Sarah’s car that she left round Dan’s. We followed the ambulance all the way to the hospital, rushing in by Dan’s side.
“I’m here baby. I’m never going to leave you.” I said, tears welling up in my eyes again.
“I’m sorry but you’ll have to wait here.” The doctor said as he wheeled Dan off into another part of the hospital.
“No, you’ve got to let me go with him!” I screamed down the corridor.
“Come here, Molls.” Josh pulled me in for a hug and I couldn’t help it, I bawled my eyes out, screaming “Dan!”. People were staring at us, I hated it.

Teen FictionDan didn't know what to expect when he fell deeply in love with Molly, or how quickly for that fact. This tale shows the journey the both of them have been on, good and bad. It contains quite a bit of swearing and a lot of sexual content.
