I managed to get up, I hid behind a bale of hay as someone entered the barn, a brown eyed man, nearly 20, wearing a dark shirt, light faded jeans, and boots, came inside. He looked around the barn. Looking for what? I wondered. Does he know I'm here?! I suddenly heard a sigh behind me. I turned around and stared at the mouth of a horse. I yelped. Then remembered someone else was here. I looked behind me and prepared for the man to tackle me, but all he did was chuckle. "Say hello to Shadow, my trusty steed." he said. I was wary of saying anything to avoid conflict. When he realized I wouldn't speak, he smiled. "I guess you've went through a rough day. Tell you what, My momma's cooking supper in about an hour, how about you join us? Besides, you don't seem that dangerous." He said. Is he calling you WEAK?! The voice exclaimed. I sighed and said, "I'd be happy to join you.. uh." I said. not knowing his name. "Hudson, Hudson River." He said. Ironic. I thought. "What about you? Mind telling me your name?" He asked. I didn't want him to know who I was. I've seen too many shows to know that once you get too attached to someone and reveal too much about yourself to them, they'll be used against you, or they'll be a new target. "Seth Winston." I managed to reply, using the name of a backstabbing "friend" of mine back in Haven Grove and the middle name of a technological prodigy my mother knew, Aaron Winston Clark. "Nice name there, kid." He said. Compliments won't save you. So the voice returned.. Great. "You alright there, bud? You look like you'd break a block of wood with your fist." Good, he's showing his fear. It said? Thought? I can't truly explain. "Come on, I might be able to cheer you up." Hudson said.
