A few days pass with no news on Helix Industries, although, Diana insisted on training me to become more knowledgeable about the powers I possess. We started with simple attacks such as the energy wave I had used before. I then was taught more beneficial abilities such as healing and shields. Elise thought of an idea to teach me a few basic spells, and Hudson trained me on attack and defense, even though he was gone for a few days to visit his parents. He came back right as Diana and I were beginning to spar and decided to join us. More days pass with nothing but training sessions and practicing spell recitation. All was calm.
But with every calm, there's a storm following suit, and oh, how much destruction it would leave behind. I thought.
I began meditating, as instructed by Diana and Elise to further concentrate on my magic, when I heard a crash and something ricochet against the floor. I then heard a silent hiss. A smoke bomb, a silent attack. I quickly grabbed the canister and threw it through the same window it entered. I saw two silhouettes running into the night, I then followed their tracks which led to a clearing. I pulled out a sharp knife which had been taken previously from the kitchen drawer. A trap, I know it is. I thought bitterly. I then noticed a white sheet of paper stuck against a tree by a dagger. I removed the dagger and read the note.
Fooled so easily. Soon, it will be your downfall. Be warned, Evan, and be afraid.
I swore under my breath, put the dagger in my pocket and rushed back, only to find it vacant. I checked every room within and saw no sign of them.
They're gone.

The Witch was wrong, for She ruled for a very long period of time, not gloriously, but ruled nonetheless. Attacks stirred uprisings within the kingdom, but She saw to it that the rebels were dealt with. Their blood streaked the stone grounds the citizens walked among, fear engulfing their entire beings. She, as a daily ritual, went to a balcony overlooking the kingdom, and praised her work. "They have tormented countless lives, but now it has been my turn to torment, to strike fear, into the hearts and minds of those who wronged me." She replied.
Footfall tapped the grounds beneath her. Although she has been prepared for any attack, they were too quick for her, and as a stroke of luck, their dagger hit their mark, the heart of the mage.
Vanessa the Rogue was dead as soon as she fell.
