And with that, everything appeared to be normal...
...except for a few things.
Everyone was on the surface. Chara and Asriel were somehow alive. Even Gaster was standing there.
"Isn't it beautiful, everyone?" Asgore said in awe as the group gazed at the sunrise.
Glitch and Anti watched from behind. Glitch's jaw dropped at the breathtaking view.
"... it IS beautiful." she whispered to Anti, who nodded in agreement.
"I'm proud of you, sis. Seeing this must be your reward for doing what's right in the end."
"Either that or it's just a coincidence...more likely a coincidence."
"Oh come on!" Anti elbowed her sister, who just gave a weak smile.
"...heh."
She went back too gazing at the sunrise.
"It's so pretty, Chara! Look at all the colors!" Asriel said, pointing.
"... yep." Chara agreed quietly. ".... too bad such a beautiful place is home to such evil beings."
"C'mon, surely not all humans are bad! You're not bad! Frisk isn't bad!"
"Hm." Chara rolled their eyes.
Frisk was relieved to not be corrupted anymore, but hid their newfound joy.
The other monsters chattered excitedly. They were clearly ready for their happy, new life on the surface.
Glitch sadly watched as her new friends began to leave one by one.
"We should get going now, too." Anti said, opening a portal.
"Uh...yeah. You go ahead. I'll catch up in a sec." Glitch muttered.
Anti nodded in understanding and went through.
Glitch sighed and resumed sadly watching.
Soon she, Frisk, Chara, and Asriel were the only ones left on the mountain.
Alone.
