Dr. Angela Martin tapped on the clipboard with the silver pen that had been a graduation present from her father. She wondered if her father had given it to her knowing the challenges she would be facing with her patients. She wondered If he knew she would have patients like Sindee Bell.

Sindee had not been forth coming about her relationship with Jimmy Mason. That troubled Angela deeply. Whenever Sindee hid things from her, it was always a bad sign. Not only was she in a steady relationship with this Mr. Mason, but she was doing things with him sexually without his knowledge.

It's difficult to try to decide where one is supposed to let go and provide guidance and when one has to step in to further moderate a situation. What is real harm and what is just assholery is a tough line to draw when dealing with mental diversity. With Sindee Bell, it was no easy line to draw. Being left behind on the ball, Angela had been spending the past month playing catch up.

"Sindee..." said Angela, "You just told me you're having dinner with Jimmy's brother and his husband. You don't having any feelings about this?"

"I suppose," said Sindee, "I mean... I've never really had a family dinner. Not as an adult anyway. The whole thing sounds like it would be fun."

"Sindee," said Angela, "I'd like to believe spending time with Jimmy has helped open you up and make you feel more... Functional. But, the fact remains, you still have atypical behavior and you are easily triggered."

"But Dr. Martian, you were the one who told me to go out and make friends."

"Yes," said Angela, "I did say make friends, but that's what I meant, friends. I don't know if you are ready for this kind of relationship. You're hiding things from Jimmy. What kind of chance do you think you have of making this relationship work if you can't be honest with a man that you claim to love?"

"It's not..." Sindee was trying to find the words. "He's... He doesn't need to know."

"Sindee... How can you say that? Have you forgot what you did? If it wasn't for that plea bargain, you would had to go knocking on doors telling everyone what you did every time you switched apartments for the rest of your life. Of course you have to tell him. If you can't tell him, then who can you tell?"

"Sindee," continued Angela, "you have a responsibility to tell him, so that when something goes wrong, he knows how to handle it."

"How do I say something like that?" Asked Sindee.

"Just talk to him like you talk to me," said Angela. "Be honest and patient. Give him time to take in the information. If it makes it easier, you can always bring him here."

"I'll think about it," Sindee lied.
