Close Friends (Johnny)

        You and Johnny were close friends ever since you were kids. He was over at your house one night when the storm outside got worse. You told him that he could stay over for the night, grabbing a pillow and blanket from your hall closet. He thanked you and fixed his bed on the couch. Later on that night, you were lying in bed, scared that the storm would get worse. You decided you needed to talk with Johnny to take your mind off the stupid storm but you didn't want to wake him.

        You lie there trying to sleep for what seemed like hours until you heard a quiet knock on your door. You turned your head to see a familiar dark figure walk towards the bed.

        "Hey, I just wanted to make sure you were okay." Johnny whispered, making your heart melt.

        "Yeah, I'm okay." You lied, not wanting him to think anything of you.

        He nodded, whispering good night before turning around to go back to the couch.

        "Johnny?" You called out, making him stop in his tracks. "Could you... stay with me?"

        Your heart pounded faster as the seconds go by before he turns back around towards you.

        "Of course." He crawled onto your bed slowly, lifting the covers up to get under. He wrapped his arms around you, making you warm instantly.

        "Jeez, you're freezing." He said, rubbing his hands against your arms.

        You smiled as you lied your head on his chest. You could hear his soft heartbeat as you both settled comfortably under the covers. He gently kissed your forehead before looking out the window to see the lightning flashing across the sky through the crack of the curtains. You couldn't describe how safe and perfect you felt in his arms.
