Johnny's P.O.V.

I hiss at the pain that scorches my tongue when I take a sip of the coffee I just ordered. I should've known to wait a little bit before tasting it. The sting of the burn lingers in my mouth.

It's bad enough I'm nervous as hell right now. I haven't been to this cafe in years but I figured it'd be the best place for the two of us to meet. I just hope no paparazzi have followed me here. Ever since Pirates of the Caribbean came out, they've been up my ass for photos even more so than usual.

My eyes avert to the big window at the front of the cafe near the table I'm sitting at. All those people walking by, minding their own business while the wind blows all around. It's pretty cold out there this time of year. Everyone's bundled up in coats, hats, scarves, sweaters - pretty much anything to keep them warm. The leaves have nearly all fallen off their trees onto the ground, flowing with the gusts of wind that come and go.

It would be peaceful to sit here and watch if it weren't for the real reason that I'm here. I check the time on my phone. It's been 10 minutes now since I've gotten here and ordered our usual drinks though it has been a while. I don't know if I got the other coffee right or not.

The bell on the door rings throughout the cafe and I look up only to see a man near my age rubbing his hands together, blowing his breath onto them to warm them faster. He seems like he's not from here with the way he's shivering like he's not used to this coldness.

A sigh escapes me and I sit here wondering if maybe this was a bad idea. She might not even show up. No, this was a stupid idea. Why would she want to come meet me when we haven't spoken in so long?

"I'm so sorry." I hear a familiar voice say.

My head shoots up to see her standing across the table from me. She must've walked in before the door shut behind the man. Her hair's covered up by a beanie, her cheeks and nose rosy from the weather, and she seems out of breath.

"I would've been here sooner but it's been so long. I nearly forgot where it was." She admits, sitting down in the chair in front of her, taking her gloves off her hands and her beanie off her head to reveal her frizzy hair. "You haven't been here long, have you?"

Her eyes look apologetic as she waits for me to answer her.

"Uh, no. Just got here actually." I reply, pushing her cup of coffee towards her.

"Oh my god, thank you." She takes a slow sip of her coffee and hums gratefully. "You remembered."

I smile to her and nod my head, glad I got it right after all these years.

"So, how have you been?" I ask her, taking a sip of my own drink again with careful intention.

She sets her cup down and sighs. "I'm alright. I actually moved to a new apartment so I could be closer to my job. What about you?"

"Good. I'm alright too, just working on some more movies."

She nods and stares at her cup of coffee. The silence between us should be awkward but it's not. This is exactly how it was when we were dating. Comfortable silence. We didn't always need to talk.

"I saw your new movie." She says after taking another sip of her coffee. "It was really good. I couldn't believe it was you all dressed up like that though."

"Really?"

"Yeah, I've been keeping up with your movies even after... everything." She bites her lip, her rosy cheeks becoming more prominent. "You're an amazing actor."

I feel warmth rise onto my cheeks as well from her compliment. "Thank you."

We start talking about different things, like nothing bad ever happened between us. I love watching her talk about her job and her pet, the two things she loves so dearly. Nothing ever compares to the way her eyes light up when she's excited and the way she goes on and on about it. Her voice just sounds so angelic to me. It makes me realize how much I've actually missed her. How much I've missed us.
