You had just moved a few weeks ago to your new house. Your dad got a new opportunity at his job so you had to more to Kentucky. You were only about five. You had become close friends with the boy across the street. You two always played in the treehouse your dad had built for you and played Pirates.

"(Y/N), come on! We're got to get away before the bad pirates get us!"

"I'm coming but you're dropping all the treasure!"

"I don't care about the treasure! As long as you're safely in the ship, we're good."

You two climb into the treehouse, pretending to shoot the pirates with sticks that Johnny had found for you two to use.

"They're getting closer! Johnny get the ship moving!"

"Set sail!" Johnny hollered, throwing his fist in the air. "Men, hoist the colors!"

You were almost safely away when you heard your mother call you in for dinner.

"Coming, Mommy!"

You were about to climb down from the treehouse when Johnny stopped you.

"What is it?"

"I need to ask you something."

"Like what?"

"Something that's... really important to me."

You sat down beside him, waiting for him to ask away. He seemed awfully nervous for some reason.

"W-would you, um, marry me?"

"Marry you?"

"Y-yeah."

"Well... I don't know. I kinda wanna live life before marrying my pirate."

"What about when we're older?" He asked, hope full in his eyes.

"We'll see." You replied, kissing his cheek before hopping down. He had the biggest smile on his face as he placed his hand where you kissed him.

*a few years later (you're both 18)*

You're sitting in the old treehouse, looking around the backyard, remembering all the times you and Johnny spent back here. There wasn't a day that went by that he wasn't at your house.

You picked up the sticks that you two kept for years that you pretended to be either your guns or swords. Pirates was one of your favorite games to play. You sighed, placing them down again. You'd do anything to get those days back again.

You started to hear someone approaching the treehouse as you sat there. You turned your head to see Johnny appear from the side.

"Hey."

"Hey."

"What're you doing up here?" He asked, sitting next to you.

"Just remembering the times we had up here."

"They were fun."

"Yeah... I can't believe that I'm graduating."

"Me neither."

"I wish you were going up there with me." You muttered, fiddling with your hands.

"I know... I'm sorry. You know my passion for music and the principal even told me that I should focus on that."

"Don't be sorry. I understand..."

"How about this," He placed his arm around your shoulders. "I go up there with you anyway."

"No." You laughed.

"Oh, come on. I'll hold your hand as you walk up to get your diploma. Just so you won't be so nervous and I'll keep you from tripping."
