I bolted through the door. "Mom! Dad!" I yelled. running through the empty kitchen.
"In here Jenna." My dad said barely above a whisper. I walked into the family room. Only to see my parents sitting on the couch together and two police officers. One of the police officers was sitting in a chair right across from my parents and the other one was sitting in a chair right next to the other police officer. They turned to look at me.
"Hello Jenna. I am officer Kane and this is my partner officer Swan." Officer Kane said. He had brown shoulder-length hair. Brown eyes. He was actually pretty good looking to be honest. He was probably in his early twenties. Wait what am I thinking? I looked away. He probably noticed me checking him out. Not replying I looked down. "Why don't you take a seat next to your parents? We have some things to discuss." Officer Kane said. I took a quick glance at him. he was staring at me. I quickly looked away. I walked over to the couch and sat in between my mom and my dad. My mom was busy crying into a tissue. My dad had a worried look on his face. It looked like he was holding his tears in. He never cries in front of me. He probably stopped when he heard me running through the kitchen. Wait a minute. Why are my parents crying? Why are there two police officers here?
"Why are you here?" I asked. A little more aggressive than necessary. Everyone was giving me sympathetic looks. "Why are you here? And why is everyone looking at me like that?" I demanded when no one answered me.
"Jenna it seems that Mr. Davis has been released from jail." Officer Kane spoke up.
"What do I care?" I asked. I don't know anyone with the last name Davis.... Wait yes I do. Davis is Josh's last name.
"Josh Davis has been released from jail." Officer Kane said slowly. Everyone was looking at me. Waiting for my reaction.
"What!?" I yelled jumping off of the couch. Which made my mom jump and start crying even harder than she already was. My dad tried to grab my shoulders and sit me back down. I got out of his grip and ran right towards officer Kane. "How could you let him go?" I yelled pointing my finger at him.
"I understand you're mad Jenna but, you have to know I had nothing to do with that decision." Officer Kane replied in a calm voice.
"I don't care! How could they? Do they not know what he did to me? What he put me through?" I asked. "I should be dead! I was dead actually. I died because of him." I yelled. "All because he thinks I told on him." I whispered
"What does he think you told?" Officer Swan spoke for the first time. I actually forgot he was even here. Officer Swan had blonde hair and blue eyes. He was nowhere close to officer Kane. Wait what am I thinking? Snap out of it Jenna! I yelled at myself.
"Jenna?" Officer Kane asked with a worried expression on his face. Wait. Does he care? No just doing his job.
"What?" I asked.
"What does he think you said?" Officer Kane asked. I shook my head. "Why aren't you going to tell me?" Officer Kane asked.
"Because I can't." I replied.
"Why not?" He asked.
"I don't trust you. And he is free. He could just do the same thing he did before." I said.
"How do you know?" Officer Kane asked. I shook my head again. "Jenna you can trust me." Officer Kane replied. I looked into his eyes. I saw sympathy, trust, and something else I just couldn't think of the name of it right now. I decided I could trust him.
"Ok I trust you. But only you." I answered. He understood. He nodded towards officer Swan.
"Mr. and Mrs. Smith lets give these two a few moments." Officer Swan said. My dad was a little reluctant to leave but I nodded my head. He got up and walked out the door. I realized that me and officer Kane were alone.
"Ok Jenna tell me." He said. I was still debating if I should tell him or not. "Jenna please tell me." He said I looked into his eyes again. I still saw trust and sympathy and love? Wait? What? Maybe he is ok. I sighed.
"Well one day after school I asked Josh if it would be ok if I went over to my friend at the time Anna's house. He said no. I had to go to his house. So we went to his house. He took me up to his room. I didn't even think he would do it but he did. I am so stupid God I should have just gone to Anna's house instead but no I had to let him be the boss and do what he said." I whispered. Tears falling down my face.
"He raped you didn't he?" Officer Kane asked me. I nodded my head. unable to say anything. As the tears kept falling down my face. I couldn't stop them. Officer Kane pulled me into a hug. I didn't resist him. Like I usually would if my parents or anyone else tried to hug or even touch me. "I am so sorry this happened to you." He said. "If it was my way that bastard would still be behind bars and never let go. For what he has done to you." He said. I was amazed. I was in the arms of a police officer who I may or may not have feelings for. And that the officer just said that. "Jenna, how do you know that if you tell he is going to do it again?" He finally asked me. Oh right. I left his arms. I missed his embrace instantly. And his scent of Cinnamon and Vanilla. Lingered on my nose. I started walking up the stairs to my room. I knew he was following me. I went to my bedside table and opened the drawer and pulled the note out that I got a couple of days ago. I gave it to him and he read it. After a minute he looked up from the note. "Can I show this to officer Swan?" He asked. My eyes got real big. I thought I could trust him. "You can trust him. We will go outside so your parents wont have to know anything about the note." He said. How did he know that my parents didn't know about the note? "I promise you can trust him too." I just nodded my head.
"Ok." I said reluctantly.
"Ok lets go back downstairs then." He said. I led him down the stairs. Just as officer Swan walked into the living room.
"I got them to go for a drive." He said to officer Kane.
"Thank you Kyle." Officer Kane said.
"No problem Dimitri." Kyle replied. So mister cute cop Kane guys name is Dimitri? It suites him. "What is that in your hand?" Kyle asked Dimitri.
"Its a note Josh wrote to Jenna." Dimitri answered.
"Can I read it?" Kyle asked me. I looked at Dimitri for support. He nodded his head.
"Yeah I guess." I said. looking down at the ground. I didn't look up till Dimitri started talking.
"Can you tell us everything that happened now?" He asked looking down at me. He was way taller then me. Well pretty much everyone is taller than me actually I'm only 5ft 3 and he was probably 6ft 7 or 6ft 8. I'm really not sure. I looked in his eyes and decided sighed.
"Well you already know most of the story. Which if you don't mind could you please tell officer Swan? I don't think I can say it again please?" I asked looking into his eyes. He nodded and took officer Swan into the next room. I went and sat down on the couch while they were in the other room talking. When they came back officer Swan came up to me and tried to hug me. I got up and went to stand behind Dimitir's back. Like I said I really don't like being touched anymore.
"Kyle back off." Dimitri said.
"I'm sorry. Its just I really don't like being touched. I don't even let my parents hug me anymore." I stated.
"I understand." officer Swan said giving me a warm smile. "Well now that we know that part of the story can we hear the rest?" Officer Swan asked. I looked up at Dimitri. He looked like he really wanted to know. I came out from behind him and sat down on the couch. They sat on the chairs in front of the couch. I took a deep breath.
"Now the story im about to tell you does not have a happy ending." i said. I looked at Dimitri and Kyle they both nodded. I took another deep breath and started. "It was a boring Monday.".....
