Dimitri's POV.
I hate hospitals. I'm just sitting in the waiting room. Watching all of these people walk by. I hope Jenna is ok. She's been in surgery for a while. A phone ringing brought me out of my thoughts and back to the real world. I realized that it was my phone going off. "officer Kane." I answered.
"How is my daughter?" Mr. Smith asked me frantically.
"Calm down Mr. Smith Jenna, is fine." I answered. "She is in surgery now." I said.
"Dr. Reynolds called and asked if she could." Mr. Smith said. "I told him you, could sign the paperwork. I hope that was alright with you." He finished.
"Yeah, it was alright, Jenna helped me with the answers I didn't know." I told him.
"Did she cooperate?" He asked.
"Not at first. We had to get X-rays and, she didn't want to do that. So, we had to force her. Then, when she found out she had to have surgery she yelled. When we had finally calmed her down. We got her all ready for surgery. They, had to give her a shot, and well as soon as she saw that needle all the screaming from before was ten times worse."
"Jenna never did like needles." He cut in.
"I had to go in and she held my hand so tight, I thought she was going to break it sir." I finished.
"That's my girl, still strong even when she's throwing a fit and in a lot of pain." He said. "I'm guessing you are the one who had gotten her to calm down and agree to everything?" He asked.
"Yes sir." I answered. It was silent for a moment.
"You know..." He paused for a minute. "You know, she really likes you." He said. I knew he knew she liked me but, I don't know if I should tell him that I like her too."And, Before I left I had my suspicions. I felt like you like her as well?" He said it more as a question. "Are my suspicions right?" He asked me. I gulped.
"Yes sir." I answered.
"I knew I was right, fathers know these things." He said. I didn't know what to say. "Dimitri, there is an age difference between you two." He said. "How old are you?" He asked me.
"21 sir." I answered.
"That's four years difference." He said.
"I know sir, I can resign and have someone else watch over her." I started.
"No, theres no need for that and besides, Jenna would kill me." He said. I smiled "I'm not saying I'm happy about it but, she hasn't had the best relationship in the past and, she deserves to be happy." He said. Well, obviously the reason I met her is because of that asshole!
"I know." I answered.
"But, seeing as you are a police officer I have no doubt that my daughter is in good hands." He said.
"She is sir." I answered. Someone cleared their throat. I looked up to see Dr. Reynolds standing in front of me.
"Sorry to interrupt but, she's out of surgery and she is going to be waking up soon and, I know you made her a promise to be there when she opened her eyes." He said. I stood up.
"We will talk more later." Mr. Smith said. I pressed end on my phone and started following Dr. Reynolds down a hallway.
"Surgery went well." He said. We stopped in front of a door. "You can go ahead and go in, the drugs will probably take a little bit to wear off, when they do I'll come back." He said. Then he started to walk away. I took a deep breath before I opened the door. It was dark and quiet. I saw Jenna sleeping on a bed. He leg was lifted in a sling with a bandage wrapped tightly around her foot. She looked so peaceful. I went and moved a chair by the edge of her bed. She started stirring in her sleep. I grabbed her hand. She squeezed it. After a few more seconds her eyes fluttered open. She looked at me with her big eyes.
