I woke up the next morning with a snoring Dimitri next to me. I smiled and got up as slowly and as quietly as I possibly could. I didn't want to wake him up. He looked so peaceful. I walked down the staris towards the kitchen I was really hungry. I got a bowl down and some fruity pebbles and sat down at the kitchen table and started eating my cereal. I heard footsteps. "How long have you been awake?" Dimitri asked while walking into the kitchen and sitting down across from me.
"Not long." I replied.
"Why didn't you wake me up?" He asked me.
"Because I didn't feel like I really needed to." I answered. I sure as hell was not going to tell him that the reason I didn't wake him up was because he looked peaceful.
"How did you sleep?" He asked me.
"Good." I replied actually I slept great. I had the best sleep I've ever had since leaving the hospital. "And you?" I asked him.
"Good." He answered.
"I can't believe you made me sleep on the floor." I whined.
"What?" He asked looking at me confused. "You're the one that said it bothered you that I was standing outside." He replied.
"It didn't seem fair." I said.
"I'm a cop. That's my job." He answered.
"Yeah, but you should still be allowed to sleep." I said.
"I was told to protect you. And that is what I am going to do." He answered.
"Ok but you can still sleep." I told him. He shook his head. "So you were awake all night last night?" I asked. He nodded his head. "And this morning when I heard you snoring?" I asked. He nodded his head again. I clenched my fists.
"Look I know that you're mad but, you have to know I did it to keep you safe." He said. I shook my head. "Come on Jenna don't be like that." He said.
"Fine! But, you have to take a nap." I said. He gave me a look that said not gonna happen. "Please?" I ask giving him my puppy dog eyes that always works on my dad. Maybe it will work on Dimitri too? He opened his mouth probably to protest but I started talking before he could. "Come on Officer Kaneeee pleasee?" I asked using somewhat of a baby voice and batting my eyelashes.
"Fine! but, only for a little bit." He answered. I mentally jumped up and yelled yes! How embarrassing would that be if I actually did that?
"Oh and you have to actually be sleeping this time." I said. He just looked at me. "I swear nothing is going to happen." I promised him. He gave me a nervous look. "Here I'll stay in the room with you if it makes you feel better." I suggested. I made him lay down on the couch I sat down on the sofa. I turned the TV on and was channel surfing. I had this strange feeling that I was being watched. "You know it works better if your eyes are actually closed." I said as I turned to look at him. But I was shocked when I turned around and saw that he was sleeping. Really sleeping this time. I still felt like someone was watching me. I got up and went to the kitchen to look through the long window. I scanned outside the window. Looking for somebody. I knew someone or something was out there. I just couldn't see what it was. Then I saw a movement in the trees. I opened the kitchen door. Then shut it as quietly as I could since Dimitri was still sleeping in the other room. I went to where I saw the movement. "Who's there?" I asked scared. I had no idea what I had just gotten myself into. I got a little closer. "Who is there?" I said louder. I saw movement again.
"Calm down Jenna. It's just us." Anna said as she stepped out from behind the bushes.
"Who's we?" I asked. Seeing as I only saw Anna and no one else. Then Max, Justin, and Ashley stepped out from behind the bushes too. "Oh My God! What are you guys doing here?" asked hugging them.
