I don't know how long I sat there in Craig's arms, listening to him tell me over and over again that it would be okay. That he wouldn't tell anyone, that I could trust him.
"Your secret is safe with me, Ev." He had told me before we parted ways, my chest feeling a lot lighter than it had when I got there.
"Thanks, Craig." I mumbled as we hugged one last time, pushing down the thought of him telling anyone what I told him.
I basically broke, I snapped, I confessed to the one person I never thought I would.
He knows I like Jonathan, which means I'm playing a dangerous game here, considering Lui knows part of the secret.
I have to trust Craig to not let everything fall apart, I have to, I just have to. Oh, who am I kidding? It's over, I'm over, everything is ruined, I shouldn't even bother anymore.
Lui's going to find out, my high school career is over, my friends will be gone, I'll be the social outcast, I'll be alone. It's what I deserve though, because I'm the bad guy.
I'm a liar, a no-good, backstabbing liar.
So I hope Lui enjoys watching me fall apart.

Evan got home at three in the morning, he didn't know where the time had gone considering Craig had went home at one.
As soon as he walked inside his house he was hit with a strong scent of alcohol.
What the hell happened here? He asked himself as he ventured further into his home. He stopped as he began to hear shouting from upstairs.
"How do you not know where he is? It was your job to take care of him!" His dad shouted, his words almost slurred completely together.
"Mom? Dad? I'm home!" He called as he was halfway up the stairs, shrugging off his jacket as he held his bag in one hand, trying not to injure the other one further.
The sudden crash startled him so much he nearly fell down as he reached the top. He began to shake slightly as he got to the door of his room.
"Evan, sweetie, where were you?" His mother's voice sounded strained, but he swallowed all his worry and tried to stay calm.
"I was hanging out with Craig and I guess I fell asleep, sorry! I didn't see the time until I woke up!" He hoped there would be no more audible surprises.
"C'mere, son!" His dad called to him, causing Evan to drop both his jacket and his bag on the inside of his door, just next to his desk. The light was left on as he made his way to his parent's room.
"Yeah, dad?" There was a crash as soon as he stepped in the door, a glass had been smashed against the wall, just above the light switch. Evan recoiled as a shard grazed his cheek, slicing his skin easily.
His mother was appalled. "How dare you hurt him, you bas-" She was smacked across the face, instantly striking a reaction from the boy.
"Stop that!" He shouted, throwing himself onto his father, only being able to latch onto his arm as he began to strangle his mother. "You son of a-"
Being thrown against the wall was the last thing he could remember clearly.
---
"Have you guys heard from Evan?" Tyler asked as he met up with his friends at the park, both a skateboard and a backpack in tow.
It had been a few days, and Evan's absence actually bothered them more than they would think. None of them wanted to say anything, is all.
"Sorry, dude, not since a few days ago. I texted him we're meeting today, so he'll probably show up, don't worry." David said, standing on top of his board.
"Who spoke to him last?" Brock asked, looking around his friends as they all shrugged. "Oh well, I'm sure he'll be fine."
---
"Evan, you know you don't have to go with your friends if you don't want to. I know you didn't want to go to school, either." His mother said while standing in his doorway.
"I'm fine." His stubborn voice insisted as he stood up from his bed, backpack on his shoulders and a board underneath his arm. "I'll be fine."
As he shouldered past his mother stood in the doorway, he tried to ignore the stinging pain in his arm.
---
Jonathan was sat on his bed, Lui, Marcel, and Craig all in various places in his room.
"I'm bored." Craig declared, sitting up to look at the other three. "Is this actually what you guys do when you hang out?"
The trio looked at one another before nodding in unison. "Pretty much." Lui answered. "Why?"
Craig laid back down with a sigh. "Nothing, it's just so, boring. So unlike what I usually do with friends."
"What do you usually do?"
"Drink. And swear. Lots of swearing, yelling, drinking, pranking, and overall having a good time. Never a dull moment." The faraway look in Craig's eyes showed that he missed Evan and his friends. Then it was gone. "But this is fine too, relaxing, calming, peaceful, never a stressed moment."
---
"Evan!" Tyler shouted with joy as he spotted his friend. "Where have you been?" He took the board that Evan offered him, since he couldn't use it because of his arm.
"I've been around." Evan's vague reply brought laughter to the group as jokes were thrown about and everyone began to skate around on their boards.
"Hey, Ev?" Brock asked as he sat next to him while Brian rode on Brock's board- his own had been broken for a few weeks now.
"Yeah?" Evan asked as he turned to Brock, becoming bored.
"Where'd you get that cut from?" He gestured to his cheek. "And why is there blood on your cast?"
Evan touched his cheek, running the tips of his fingers along the healing skin. "I must've hit something in my sleep." His eyes darted to the few drops of dried blood on his cast, trying to work out a reasonable explanation. "And I think I had a nosebleed and I left the blood there since I can't get the cast wet."
Brock nodded, believing Evan's lies as he turned his head back to their friends.
