"Hey, what's wrong?" As soon as he opens the door for me, Jonathan can immediately tell I'm not feeling well.

"N-nothing. I just wanted to see you." I try to hide it, but I'm sure that my dodging of eye contact is a dead giveaway to my real feelings. I step inside his house, not even looking around because I fee myself tense up for some odd reason.

Jonathan wraps me in a hug, and I have no choice but to give in to it, returning it immediately. "You can tell me, Ev, I won't tell anyone, you know me." He says, his voice soft and comforting.

"I know, Jon." We stay silent for a few minutes, before I sigh, knowing that I would have to tell him. "I was with the guys, and we were joking around, but then David said he was gay, as a joke. Then I was stupid, I made a stupid comment, and Tyler went off on me, I don't know what happened, I just-" Jonathan is hugging me tighter than he had been previously.

"It's okay, Evan. They're not your real friends if they don't accept who you are." His parents aren't home, I realize since we are doing this literally in the middle of the front entrance.

I don't reply, and we stay hugging for a few more minutes before I pull away, looking at him.

"Boyfriends?"

He looks taken aback by my statement, like he hadn't expected the question to appear like that, but yet, he nods.

"Boyfriends."

-----------------------

"Guys, relax, I'm calling him, okay?" Tyler is growing irritated as the guys keep reminding him of his mistake. He pulls out his phone, dialing Evan's number. After a few rings, the call declines, meaning that his friend had purposely not answered his call.

"You really didn't have to out him like that, now you made it seem like you hate him." David glares at Tyler before shaking his head, smacking himself lightly. "I was the one who made that stupid joke...."

"Dave, it wasn't your fault, it was mine. I was too harsh, damn, I wish he knew that I didn't care.....I hope he knows he's still my best friend." Tyler tries calling the boy one more time, still no answer.

--

Jonathan is holding Evan's phone, repeatedly declining Tyler's calls as Evan sleeps beside him, Jonathan wrapped in his arms for comfort.

The two had migrated into Jonathan's room, because he had insisted to Evan that he needed to sleep and that they could deal with the situation when they woke up.

After declining a few more calls, Jonathan places his boyfriend's phone on his nightstand, curling up into his arms so he was more comfortable.

His head rests on Evan's chest, one arm wrapped around his torso as he closes his eyes, letting Evan's slow and even breaths to lull him to sleep.

--

"Dude, you know he's probably not even at home right now, right?" Tyler face-palms as he sits on his bed, the rest of his friends filing into his room.

"Look, Tyler, you made a mistake, now you gotta live with it. But, why did you even act that way?" Brock asks, trying not to lash out at the boy like the others had.

"I don't know, Brock, it just sort've came out, you know? I knew he was lying to me, that day when we both had detention, and I hated that he was doing that. I don't know why I went off on him like that, though. I feel terrible."

"Complaining about it isn't going to fix it." David said, his voice hardening. "He needs you, he needs all of us, Tyler. If you just sit here and complain about the situation, he's just going to keep thinking you hate him and he's going to tear himself up about it just like with Lui. Don't be a Lui, Tyler."

--

Jonathan's mother was surprised as she walked into her son's room to find that he wasn't alone. He held another boy in his arms, almost as if they had fallen asleep comforting one another. She didn't want to disturb the two, but Jonathan needed to go to school.

Quietly, she crept into the room, thankful that her son was on the edge, nearest to her.

She nudged the boy's shoulder. "Jon, sweetie, wake up." At her gentle touch, the boy stirred, still holding the other boy tightly in his arms as he blinked open his eyes, looking at his mom.

"Yeah?" For a moment, he forgets that he has school. "Oh, right. Five more minutes." And he snuggles back into the boy beside him.

"Jon, your friend doesn't have to get up but you do, come on, honey. You have school." Jonathan's eyes shoot open at the mention of the boy beside him.

"Shit, right. Mom, I forgot to tell you, this is Evan, he's my boyfriend. He had a rough day yesterday so I was comforting him." He explains quickly, feeling his boyfriend begin to stir beside him.

He tried to get his mother's sympathy, not wanting his boyfriend to be alone all day since he knew that there was not a single ounce of a chance that he was going to school. But, as much as he tried, it wasn't going to work out.

"Sorry, honey, but you have to go to school. Now get up and get dressed, I'll leave you two alone now."

As soon as she left, closing the door behind her, Jonathan sighed. He nudged Evan. "Babe, she's gone, we have to get up."

Evan groaned. "Five more minutes, please, I don't want to face the day just yet."

"We have to go to school...."

"Just ditch."

"Excuse me?"

Evan turned around, their eyes locking. "Ditch with me, babe."
