I found Lui and Marcel outside in the front lawn of the school. I smiled and waved as I made my way over to them.
"Hey Jonathan, what took so long? I thought you found your locker this morning?" Marcel asked as we started to walk to the schools gate.
"I did, I just had a bit of trouble with the lock, hehe." I replied, trying to sound convincing.
They would kill me if they knew I had talked to Evan, I know they would. I don't know why, but I can tell they have a vendetta against him. Just by the way they talk about him and the glares they give him too.
I wonder what he could've done to make them hate him so much. And how much will they hate me if they know I talked to him?
-------------------------------
Evan pushed himself off of the locker with his foot, adjusted his backpack that was hanging off his left shoulder and started walking towards the end of the hallway. His friends followed behind him, glad that he was finally in a better mood.
The group walked through the front doors of the school, a few of them sliding down the handrail in the middle of the stairs as they made their way to the school gate. A few people called out greetings to Evan, to which he waved back and smiled, continuing to walk towards the gate.
Once they reached the gate, they made a right. Evan turned around and started to walk backwards, trusting himself to not fall down. It was bad luck to break a bone on a Friday.
"Who's ready to have some fun?" Evan said, he sounded excited, glancing back at the ground in front of him just in time to avoid tripping.
"Well, you're certainly in a better mood." Tyler commented as he also turned around to walk backwards besides his friend.
"Of course I am, we're about to have the best weekend ever!" Evan smiled, stumbling as he tripped on an uneven part in the sidewalk. He became unbalanced and fell to the ground, groaning in pain.
"Why did no one tell me about that?" He asked as he tried to sit up, wincing from the pain in his back as the guys laughed at him. "You guys are douchebags."
"But...you're alright, aren't you?" Tyler asked, out of breath from laughing.
"Besides the feeling of pain in my back, I'm absolutely fine, Ty."
Brock held out his hand, helping Evan up. "Maybe you should look where you're going next time." He said as Evan bent down to pick up his backpack which had fallen off his shoulder as he fell.
"Shut up, Moo. Let's just go." Evan said as he swung his backpack over his shoulder once more, wincing as it hit his back. He started to walk, limping ever so slightly. The guys continued to giggle behind him.
"I bet when I die it's going to be hilarious." Evan stated sarcastically as they approached his house. Craig walked beside him.
"C'mon Ev, lighten up. It's Friday!"
"Fuck off, Cub Scout. You haven't earned your friendship badge."
"Ouch, someone isn't getting their compassion badge!"
"Shut the fuck up and get out of my way."
Craig was about to say a snappy remark until he saw the look in Evan's eyes, he had legitimately pissed him off. So he quickly got out of his way, allowing Evan to open the door to his house. Craig accidentally bumped into David, who laughed at his fear of Evan.
"It's not funny, Nogla. I really pissed him off! He would've killed me!"
"No he wouldn't have, trust me."
"Oh yes, he most definitely would."
"Yeah, you're right, you are the weak one of the group."
----------------
It was about ten o'clock and there were five empty pizza boxes scattered across the floor of Evan's room. David and Brock had fallen asleep, so that left Tyler, Craig, Brian and Evan awake playing video games, not even trying to be quiet.
They were playing Mario Kart, it was Craig vs Brian while Evan and Tyler watched, both of them cheering Craig on while Brian just got mad at them.
"You two are bitches, I'm gonna beat Craig's ass!" Brian said as he pulled in front of one of the AI's in the game, taking first place right in front of Craig who was second.
"I know I swing that way, but I don't swing that way!" Craig joked as he sped into first after a blue shell hit. Craig had come out as gay the previous year, and the guys were cool with it, occasionally making a joke about it.
After Craig's comment, both Evan and Tyler started laughing as Craig won the round, Brian falling behind in second place. Craig threw his arms up in victory while Brian silently sulked, mumbling a quiet 'gg'.
While Craig, Tyler and Evan calmed their laughter, Brian turned the game off, deciding he had a better idea about what to do.
"Let's play a drinking game." He said, catching Evan's attention immediately, considering he was the one known to drink the most at parties. Occasionally having a hangover from time to time.
"What kind of drinking game?" Evan asked, curious. Meanwhile, Tyler and Craig listened, drinking games really weren't their thing, but they would play them occasionally.
"Truth or dare, except if you decide to bitch out, you have to take two shots."
Evan thought about it, there wasn't much at stake there, but he loved drinking games. And he really wanted a reason to have a drink so he agreed. "Alright, I'm in. Let me go get the drinks and shot-glasses." He stood up and walked downstairs to get a couple bottles.
Evan's parents didn't mind that Evan drank, they just wanted him to drink responsibly. And to know what alcohol should taste like so he doesn't get drugged or something. So they gave Evan his own little alcohol cabinet with a few cases of beer and other cheap drinks. It's not like he drank often.
Evan grabbed a case of beer and headed back upstairs, a few plastic shot glasses balanced precariously on the box of beer.
Tonight was gonna be a fun night.
