"WHAT?!"
What the hell does she mean by dying if I talk about escaping?
"Shh! I'll tell you later, see you at breakfast Leia!"
She said as she walked out of the bathroom. I didn't even know her name. I picked up a mascara wand and finished off my makeup.
Last girl was killed? What did she mean by trying to escape? Was there a problem or did he? Or.. they?
I had no clue how many people lived, or were placed, in this house. I'd figure that out later, for now I have to find the kitchen and hope the food isn't drugged.
I went out the door and down the hall towards the staircase, it was a beautiful staircase yet it looked like it could break any time soon. As careful as possible, I headed downstairs. It took a while to get to the bottom, was my room up really high or was I just that slow on the stairs? The kitchen was the first room on the right from the stairs. There was a huge buffet with so many different breakfast options and tons of fruits. I saw the girl from earlier as soon as I walked in. She was sitting at a long table which had multiple other girls and guys. I picked up a plate and piled up a few waffles and some strawberries. The girl waved me over to the empty seat beside her.
"Took you long enough to get down here"
She laughed. I half smiled, she seemed too happy.
"I'm Shelby by the way, Shelby Michaels."
I started to say something when I heard a door open, it went outside! I slowly went to get up and Shelby noticed and yanked me back down to whisper,
"Don't try it Leia, watch Melissa."
"Who's Melissa?."
She pointed to her. It was the girl with the long black hair I saw earlier. She had stood up and tried to run towards the door. She shoved past a couple people and then suddenly dropped. Everyone looked to the opposite side of the room and I followed their sight. There was this tall guy with pitch black hair and grey eyes who suddenly had Melissa in his grip. She started screaming and trying to get out.
I whispered to Shelby,
"Who is that?"
She just shushed me. The guy snapped Melissa's neck in an instant, practically without even trying. There was an echo of gasps and confusion.
"There's no need to worry, she'll come back." The guy up front stated. That caused whispers between some people and some just looked down at their food struggling to eat again. "That's why you don't try to escape, they turn you.."
The person sitting opposite to me said.
Turn you? What the hell did that mean?
The guy sitting beside me turned to face me, "You're new here aren't you?"
He held his hand out,
"Sean Ackers."
I shook his hand,
"Leia Dowry."
I half smiled.
"Hey what floor are you on Sean?"
Shelby popped her head around to ask.
"6th, what floors are you guys on?"
He replied.
"Leia and I have conjoined rooms on 5th"
Shelby piped up.
"She knows more than I do, I just got here yesterday"
We all laughed like nothing was wrong about this place, like they didn't just kill that girl, like we weren't in danger of being next.

During the day Shelby, Sean, and I hung out in between meals. We explored the house as well. Turns out the 7th floor is off limits. We guessed it was because the people that took all of us here stayed up there. There were only 3 floors of people that were taken here. We didn't see Melissa again at all that day.
This place had 2 different living rooms, a library, a meeting room, and a huge rec room. Other than those few, it was all bedrooms. There was a basement as well, we could tell by the bolted up door behind the stairs with a sign that read "OFF LIMITS".
The three of us were hanging out and watching a movie in one of the living rooms. Shelby took one of the chairs for herself and there was another girl with pastel pink hair in the other. Sean and I sat on the couch, the only available seating left. This one was much smaller than the other living room, it was cozy though.
Later that night, Sean walked Shelby and I back to our rooms. We said our goodnights and went to get ready to sleep.

I woke up in the corner of a dark room, freezing and barely able to make anything out. There were voices farther in the room, I couldn't tell how close the people were. I recognized Dean's and the grey-eyed guy's voices. I couldn't make out much of what they were saying. My head was pounding and I could barely open my eyes, my throat was dry and I felt groggy. I had a feeling I had been drugged. After some time, I didn't know how long, my sight started coming back. I went to stand up and fell back down with a thud, there was something around my ankle and I couldn't make out what it was in the dark. I tugged on it and it pressed against my skin, it wouldn't come off and it hurt. I was still kind of groggy from whatever they drugged me with so I kept tugging on it in an attempt to yank it off. I tugged until I felt it dig into my skin, it drew blood so I had a feeling it probably wasn't metal. I kept tugging at it anyways and started to tear up out of frustration.
I heard a door slam and I jumped.
"Leia, Leia, Leia, you're gonna hurt yourself doing that."
I recognized the grey-eyed guy's voice. He flicked a small light on to bring a bit of brightness to the dark room. The guy came closer to me and I kicked him in the gut, he didn't budge. He stood up and helped me up off the ground. I hit him in the face this time, he lifted a hand up to his cheek.
"You're going to regret that Leia."
Next thing I knew was I was falling back to the floor, everything going dark.~•~
A/N; (author's note)
I've left you guys on another cliffhanger, my apologies they're just so fun! I also am sorry for short chapters and long waiting time in between, I've been busy with school lately and a recent loss so I haven't had much time to be writing. The next chapter might take a while because there's a lot I'd like to get in there. Hope you guys are enjoying my story so far, drop some opinions or text me (if you know me irl) and I'll get back to you soon with another chapter!
