The three of us piled into Allison's car, a beautiful black mustang convertible. Beth put a CD in the player and blasted it. She turned and told me,
"It's a mix, mostly eminem or rap music though."
"I love eminem!"
Beth and Allison both had the biggest smiles on their faces. I felt another smile curl onto my face, I was ecstatic. I had my family, I was going to meet my birth parents, what could go wrong?

It took nearly an hour to get to the house, we finally slowed on a dead end road with a few small houses.
"Which one of these is it?"
Both my sisters laughed.
"None of them, it's up this way."
Allison took a sharp turn into a wooded path and not too soon we were going downhill, after the foresty path there was a long driveway and a hill, we passed the hill and there was a huge castle like home. I sat there slightly in shock, was this really where I could've grown up?
Beth turned to me and laughed,
"Not quite what you expected huh?"
I shook my head,
"It's just... woah."
They both smiled.
"Well come on Leia! Let's go on in."
Allison took my bag in while Beth walked ahead with me to go to the house. I reached for the door knob and hesitated, this was all happening so fast, was I really sure I was ready to meet the people who abandoned me for all these years?
I'm as ready as I'll ever be..
I turned the knob and pushed the door open, the place was gorgeous. There was a grand staircase that parted at a landing and swept down the sides in two, a tapestry themed rug stretched at the bottom, with a crystal chandelier hanging in the center. It literally took my breath away. Glancing further around the room, taking it all in, and completely zoning out, I didn't realize the two figures who appeared at the top of the staircases.
"Leia?"
I snapped out of my daze,
"Huh?"
There was a man & a woman in front of me, and my sisters were gone somewhere, not sure where. The two adults, they looked like adults, had tears in their eyes.
Were these my parents?
"Mom? Dad?"
I was pulled into a tight hug.

I was woken up by some yelling down the hallway. It sounded like my sisters arguing over something small, the kind of thing I had rarely dealt with being as foster homes would give you hell for being loud or 'rowdy' as they'd say.
Last night was one of the best I've had in years, besides the late nights getting drunk with Dean and Shelby before things got bad there. I got to know my parents. Apparently our bloodline has been the strongest and most respected vampires for centuries now, yet also the most targeted. I've learned that there are plenty of hunters other than the one I had killed not too long ago.
The most feared hunters were the Veins. Vince Vein and his daughter Kennedy, highest number of kills a family of hunters has had since 1465. I learned that my parents moved around a lot, and that they were always scared they would lose more children to the Veins.
I rolled over to lay on my back in bed, staring up to the ceiling. I slowly went to close my eyes again then decided I'd rather get myself ready for the day. I gathered the strength to sit myself up and push the covers off of my legs. I'd start with a shower, heading over to my bathroom and grabbing a towel out from the closet. I turned the water on and turned the water temperature up a little, I loved just relaxing under steamy water, it was just so comforting.
After my shower I blow dried my hair and put on one of the cashmere robes. I was going to go natural today, just with a few extra curls in my hair and the smallest dash of mascara. I left my bathroom and went back into my room right into the walk-in closet. Choosing a pair of distressed black denim to go with a red and black camisole, paired with chunky ankle boots and a brown suede jacket. Posing in the mirror I felt pleased with what I had chosen and headed downstairs.
The rest of my family was already seated at the table piling their plates with brunch food. It's so weird to go back to sitting at a buffet table. I was leaning in the doorway and flashed back to all the things that had gone on in that.. place. Watching a girl get killed in front of everyone, being turned, them killing Sean, Shelby and I escaping, the memories were similar to something out of horror movies. I stumbled and fell, my eyesight started going in and out and my family ran over.

I woke up again in what looked like an infirmary, lying in a cot with a tube in my arm. I took a glance around, there was only one person sitting in an armchair by the window.
"Allison?"
I managed to get a word out, she turned and looked over at me. She had had tears streaked down her face.
"Leia? Oh thank god you're okay."
"What even happened?" I tore the tube out of my arm, I hated being hooked up to machines.
"Well, you blacked out in the dining room and you've been out for weeks. No one could wake you up or figure out why you fainted."
I could see tears welling up in her eyes again, she was clearly upset about something more than just me collapsing. I stayed quiet and waited for her to calm down, I wasn't quite sure how to calm down siblings since I wasn't sure what the rules were with families. Allison took a deep breath and looked up at me again,
"A lot of things happened while you were out, we're not in Transylvania anymore. We aren't even in Europe, we had to leave. We lost everything Leia, we lost our home, we lost Beth, we lost mom and dad-"
Allison broke into tears again, I sat there in shock, I had finally gotten a grasp on a somewhat normal life. I had sisters, I had parents! I lost my parents who I had just met not even in a matter of months. At least I still have someone left, I haven't lost everything yet.
"Alli, I know this sounds super cheesy but we haven't lost everything yet. We still have each other, there's still a place we can go in a small town called River Falls. Dean will let us stay there, I know he will. Just don't lose hope yet."
She looked back up at me and tried her hardest to put a smile on her face, I hated seeing her so upset. Even though I understand why she's upset, it still sucks seeing her so torn apart. I lost people I hadn't known very long, and she lost her parents and her sister. I didn't cry, I wasn't sure how to react.
"How are you feeling?"
I stretched and scratched at where I had the tube in,
"Just a little bent out of shape, what was this for?"
"Kinda like a feeding tube but just runs through your veins, it's weird."
"Got it."
"Are you feeling okay enough to leave?"
"Yeah,"
