Chapter Nine

"What? You guys are staring at me like I have six heads or something."
Dean looked her up and down and stated,
"You were supposed to be out for 7 days.. not 7 hours."
Shelby looked confused,
"Well I'm up now and what was in that drink?"
"Blood."
I got up and went over to Shelby and hugged her.
"I'm just glad you're okay."
I turned and walked out of the room and upstairs, back up to my room. Shelby awoke early, and Dean doesn't know what it means. Maybe grey eyes would know, but we're far from him now. I guess the good thing about this is that Shelby and I can learn how to live as what we are together.

   I downed another glass. We were supposed to be learning self control through a drinking game, Dean's methods were confusing. He filled shot glasses with blood and it was supposed to see how little we could have without the urge for more, so far I was winning. Shelby downed about 30 and keeps asking for more, I've had much less because I still can't stand the taste. It satisfys hunger though, and that's the reason I keep going. Dean has already taught Shelby and I a few other tricks, such as the speed and that we're so much better at eavesdropping now.
   Shelby rolled her eyes,
   "This is boring can we actually kill something?"
    "Killing someone is the last result to go to, most vampires don't condone murders."
   "That's boring."
   "It's safety, you get figured out, you're dead."
   I took that moment to speak up,
   "We might still wanna learn, just in case we'd have to.."
   "I agree with Leia!"
   "Girls I'm not teaching you how to kill people! Enough said."
   "Whatever,"
   "You two know all you need to know other than one thing, compulsion."
   "Isn't that the mind control thing?"
   "Yes, and it's extremely easy. As long as someone isn't wearing revein or has it in their system, you can get them to do whatever you want them to. Just look them in the eyes and tell them exactly."
   "Does it work on vampires?"
   "Only originals can compell other vampires."
   "That sucks."
   I just kept quiet as Shelby and Dean kept talking about originals, the oldest known living vampires. Apparently they were practically invincible, no one knew how to kill them for all we knew. After a while, Shelby and Dean ended their conversation with Shelby storming out of the room. I had zoned out so I'm not sure what happened, probably Shelby not being able to do something vicious. If I was still human, I'd be terrified of Shelby. According to Dean he believes Shelby may become a ripper, not much explanation on that term.
   "Are you doing okay Leia?"
   "Hm?"
   "You seem kind of off, you okay?"
   "Yeah, this is just a lot to take in."
   "It gets easier, don't worry about it."
"This whole thing just seems insane."
"I know, anyways you should get some sleep."
"Night."
"Goodnight Leia,"
I went and walked upstairs to my room. I didn't even change into pajamas, I just flopped into bed and fell asleep.

{A/N}
I apologize for the short chapter! A lot of writer's block and losing inspiration for this novel so sorry about that. Anyways, the next chapter might take place a few months into the future, like 5 or 6 maybe. I have many ideas for further into the novel but currently I've drawn a blank. On a side note, over 100 reads on this novel just wow, I never thought people would actually like my writing lol. Hope some of you are still interested in what's to come..
