Secrets of RiverFalls

Chapter Seven

"Woah.."
"I can't wait until we get out of here."
There was a knock on my door and Shelby and I both jumped. I slid the journal under my bed. Dean slightly opened the door to come in and closed it behind him.
"You both know I can't take the two of you at once correct? One of you leaves tonight and the other will leave tomorrow, who will it be?"
I looked over at Shelby.
"Take Shelby first."
"Are you sure you want to stay another night?"
"I'll be fine."
I hugged her and told her it'd be okay.
"Alright blondie,"
He tossed us both two drawstring bags.
"Pack whatever stuff from here you want to keep and immediatly after dinner Shelby you be up here ready to go, don't be acting suspicious though, we could all be killed."
Shelby nodded and Dean turned and left the room.
"I shouldn't go with you guys."
"Shelby you have to come, I can't let you stay here."
"But what if I mess this up? We all would end up dead..."
"Don't even think like that, please. It's going to work."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes I'm sure."
   Shelby half smiled and got up to head into her room. She was probably going to go pack her bag, I decided I should too.
   There was so much amazing stuff here, so I just started grabbing whatever was cutest and stuffing it into the bag. I had tossed in over half the wardrobe and the bag didnt seem to be filling up at all. I ended up packing all the clothes and shoes, the bag only filled halfway.
Is this some kind of witchcraft or something?
I headed to the bathroom to raid the vanity table. Shelby was there too.
   "Is it just me or do these bags seem bottomless?"
   Shelby's eyes widened,
   "What if they're enchanted?"
   "Oh Shelbs,"
   We both ended up packing all the makeup we each had and that filled our bags. Everything was a perfect fit. We stashed our bags underneath our beds, I ended up stuffing Sean's journal in mine. The rest of the day went by fast and boring. Tonight Shelby leaves.
   After dinner Shelby and I went up to her room to wait for Dean to come.
   "Leia, you should go first. I'm gonna mess this up I swear."
   "Shelby we already went over this! You're going tonight and I'll be there in less than 24 hours okay?"
   "Fine."
   "Good."
   Dean walked in the door,
   "You ready to get out of here?"
   "I guess."
   He tossed her a bandana,
   "Put that over your eyes, trust me it's essential."
   Shelby looked over at me and I nodded. She slung her bag over her shoulders and tied the bandana like a blindfold. Dean picked her up,
   "Same time tomorrow I bring you Leia."
   I nodded and he left the room, Shelby in his arms.
God I hope they get there okay..
I put my hair in a messy bun and changed into pajamas. I was exhausted so I fell asleep almost as soon as my head hit the pillow.

   The next day seemed to drag on, knowing what'll come at the end of it. Finally, dinner came around. It seemed weird sitting there without Shelby & Sean beside me. After dinner I headed up to my room, grabbing my bag and getting ready to go. There was a knock at my door, Dean.
"We have to make this quick, shouldn't leave your friend up there alone too long."
"Got it."
"You're a vampire now so you should be able to move as fast as I can, it's the easiest of any of the 'powers' you'll be able to do."
"Okay.. how do I do that?"
"Just focus on going as fast as possible or where you need to go and follow me."
I closed my eyes and focused on going fast, then took a step and opened my eyes. It didn't work. I looked over at Dean and shrugged and then he facepalmed.
"I completely forget, you aren't fully a vampire yet."
"But I got those stupid needle things and blacked out and how the heck?"
"Your transformation hasn't completed yet."
"Okay, that's a good thing though, right?"
"Not at all if you're going to survive in RiverFalls, you have to make your first kill."
"My first what?!"
"Kill."
"There's no way I can just kill someone!"
"Fine, then your thirst will take over and soon enough you'll become weak until finally, you'll just drop dead."
I stood there in shock.
I don't think I have it in me to kill someone..
"Anyways,"
He tossed me one of the bandanas.
"If you're not fully transformed you'll want this."
I tied it just like Shelby tied hers and Dean lifted me up, I was finally getting out of the hell house.
