25: Drama in the Cafeteria

YN's POV:
It was finally lunch time and Jalen and I were walking towards the cafeteria while making jokes after leaving cooking class, but the smile on my face didn't last long once I entered the room and saw Devin sitting next to his ex, Jennifer, laughing and talking with her. Jennifer continuously touched his shoulder while laughing at literally everything he says and Devin had a huge smile on his face, laughing alone with her. Dev never told me much about her, but I know enough. Kevin, Skye, and Daniel were all sitting at the table awkwardly while this was going on. When Kevin noticed me standing there, he nudged Devin in order to get his attention, but Dev shrugged him off.

"Umm, girl who is that all over Devin?" Janae asks, walking up to Jalen and I.

"His dumbass ex," I respond. Jalen then looks at me funny.

"YN, I just wanna know why you not beating that hoe ass right now?" Jalen says. Janae nods her head. They're so violent, but honestly that's exactly what I wanted to do...beat her ass.

I began storming towards the table. My blood is boiling and all I wanna do is slap both of them in the face. Who does Devin think I am?

"Beat a bitch up! Yup!" Janae and Jalen scream behind me as I walk towards the table.

I slam my hand on the table and everyone looks at me surprised, but Devin genuinely looks scared. Jennifer has a dumb ass smirk on her face.

"Somebody better tell me what the fuck is going on?" I yell. Skye just sips her soda and Kevin is looking between Devin and I while Michelle is now sitting on his lap, mean mugging Jennifer. 

"B-b-babe look, just chill out it's nothing," Devin says while holding his hand out. At this point, the entire cafeteria is looking at us. Jennifer still hasn't said one word.

"Oh really? I can't tell it's nothing. How would you feel if you saw me sitting next to my ex acting all friendly? I bet you wouldn't like that. You're not gonna play me like I'm some dumb hoe. I'm leaving, have fun with her and her ashy ass hands touching all on you," I yelled at him before taking his burger and turning to leave out of the cafeteria. He calls out to me and tells me to wait, but I just keep walking. At this point, I'm steaming and my entire body is hot.

As I'm speedily walking in the hallways, I accidentally bump into someone. My burger falls out of my hand and I groan.

"Woah, slow down girl," the person says jokingly. I look up to find a cute boy looking back at me with a smile on his face.

"Sorry, my mind is so clouded with anger, I wasn't focusing on where I was going," I apologized, "I still can't believe I just dropped my burger tho." He laughs at me.

"Well, how about this, you can have my meal if you give me your number," he offers with a smirk on his face. This caused me to raise my eyebrows. At first I was gonna decline his offer considering I have a boyfriend, but after the shit Devin did today, that excuse leaves my mind.

"It's a deal," I said with a smile on my face and he smiles back. He hands me his bag of food and his phone. I quickly put my number in his phone as "YN 😘" before peering into the bag to find a burger and fries, exactly what I wanted.

"Thank you," I say.

"No problem, I'll talk to you later Speedy," he replies. I laugh at my new nickname and say goodbye before walking away to find somewhere to eat my burger. Let's see how this turns out.

Devin's POV:

Honestly, I didn't think it would that much of a problem. We were just catching up since Jenn moved back from Montana. Now I feel bad, I didn't mean to make YN mad or hurt her feelings, but I guess I can see how she feels. I feel so bad now and she's not returning any of my texts. I wanna leave the lunch table to go find her, Daniel told me to give her some space.

"Wow, what's her problem," Jennifer says while laughing.

"You," Janae replies with a mug on her face. Michelle, Jalen, and Skye nod in agreement causing Jennifer to roll her eyes.

"Well Devin, who would've known you would get with such an insecure female and she's such a down grade," jenn says. Everyone looks at her like she's stupid.

"Okay, what you're not gonna do is disrespect my girl," I respond. "Period," I hear Janae say. Once again, Jennifer rolls her eyes.

"Honestly I don't know why you still sitting here with that stiff ass weave and them crusty ass lips. You better be glad I'm not beating your ass right now for my girl YN," Janae says as she stands up and Michelle and Skye stand up right behind her.

Jennifer rolls her eyes for the third time in a 2 minute time span while grabbing her tray and her other belongings. Before leaving the table, she turns to me and says, "I'll see you later," then winks.

"I just want to know what the fuck is wrong with you," Daniel says and Kev nods. I just shake my head and look down.

"You better be glad I don't throw this damn drink in your face," Michelle says.

"I'm gonna go try to find YN," Skye says then gives Jalen a kiss before walking away with Michelle and Janae right behind her.

"To be honest bro, you really fucked up," Jalen tells me as if I don't already know.

"Yea bro, you're dumb," Kevin adds on causing me to sigh. Now I feel even more guilty. I don't know how I'm gonna fix this.
