Chemistry [Devin Gordon]

2: The Note

YN's POV:

As soon as I walked into the classroom, I immediately saw Devin talking to his two best friends, Daniel Veda and Kevin Alston. They're all so cute. They were all sitting at their assigned table, but there was one empty seat and that seat belonged to me. I took a deep breath and began to walk over to my seat.

"Wassup YN, let me get some gum," Daniel greeted.
"YN when you gonna return my pencil ?" Kevin nagged
"Hey YN, don't listen to these dumbasses," Devin suggested.
"Oh trust me, I'm not," I replied.

"I'm surprised I didn't stutter this time," I thought.

We all laughed and then the teacher walked into the room prepared to begin her lesson. All of the students sighed heavily. I got out paper and a pen because I already know we're gonna have to write hella notes. That's the worst part of this class.

After a while, the teacher just started to ramble on and on which made me want to fall asleep. I was about to doze off until I saw a hand slide over to my notes and begin to write. I opened my eyes and I saw a number and a note. "Hang later? I want to get to know you better, Beautiful," was what it read.

I looked up and saw Devin looking over at me intently with a smirk on his face. I giggled and placed my head in my arms so he wouldn't see me blushing.

A few minutes later, the bell rang signaling that it was time for our free period. I don't know who chose to have a free period at the end of the day, but I like it. This is the time where I usually finished all of my homework. I began to race out of the room when I was stopped by someone grabbing my arm. I turned around to find Devin looking at me with the same smirk on his face.

"You didn't answer my question," Devin said. "Well....I'm going to the mall later with friends," I informed him.
"Hm..well I want to go," he admitted.
"If you say so. Meet me at my locker after school," I instructed.
"You gonna save my number?" He asked.
I nodded in reply to his question. 
"Okay beautiful...see you later," he said as he walked away.

He smiled at me before he walked out of the classroom with Kevin and Daniel trailing behind him. I was smiling ear-to-ear. I need to tell my friends about this now. Well, right after I save his number of course.

When I got to my locker, my friends were already there waiting on me. Since Jalen's back was facing me I decided to run and jump onto his back.

"Uh Uh...Noooo wtf," Jalen whined.

He was jumping and moving around like he had a squirrel in his pants. I think this is the hardest I've laughed in a while. I jumped off and wiped my tears while he looked at me with the funniest look. Michelle and Janae were leaning on one another crying from laughter also. He folded his arms and was about to walk away when I stopped him so I could tell all of them the news.

"You won't believe what happened in Chemistry today ?" I stated excitedly.
"No, but I'm sure you'll tell us," Michelle spoke.
"Haha, but Devin gave me his number and he wants to come to the mall with us," I informed my friends.
"Woah. I would've never seen this coming," Janae admitted.
"I'm just glad I'm not gonna be the only guy anymore," Jalen realized.

We were laughing at his comment when the bell rang which meant it was time for us to go home and also meant it was time for us to go to the mall. I was begging Jalen for a piggy back ride, when I felt an arm wrap around my shoulder. I looked up and saw Devin looking down at me with that familiar smirk. Him and Jalen did one of those handshakes and he gave both Michelle and Janae a hug. Soon after, we were all piling into Jalen's car. Of course Jalen was driving, Devin got into the front seat, and the three girls were in the backseat secretly texting each other. Michelle and Janae were making jokes about me and the cutie in the front seat. I wonder how this trip to the mall is going to go.
