Chapter 7 - A Birthday to Remember

Elsa's P.O.V

I didn't know where Jack was, but he came up behind me and gave me a fright. I pushed open the doors and I could tell that Anna didn't know what to say.

The maids were finishing up their jobs of putting the cake down into the middle of the table. Anna walked into the room and spun around, Jack put his arm around me and pulled me close, I could tell I was blushing.

He whispered into my ear "I think she likes it".

Most of the guests had arrived by now, including Kristoff. Sven and Olaf tagged along, they were about to walk into the crowd, thank goodness nobody noticed.

"Hi I'm Olaf and-" I stopped him and led them both outside before everyone freaked out. I excused myself from the conversation with King an Queen of the Souther Isles.

"Look, Olaf and Sven. I know you want to come to the party too. But... People will kind of think bad things of me if I let a talking snowman and a reindeer in my castle."

I tried to reason with them. "Okay! But promise me the party won't take too long!" Olaf cheerily said.

"Fine, I will see you after the party" I agreed. "By Elsa! Have fun" Olaf exclaimed whilst walking outside.

"Very sorry your majesties" I continued talking to the King and Queen. I glanced at Jack every now and then.

He smiled back as if to say 'keep talking, I'm fine'. "Are you alright dear?" The Queen asked in concern.

"Of course, I was- just- was looking for my sister." I tried to make up an excuse. "Well alright darling" she trailed off with the king.

I could tell that Anna was having so much fun.

She would often go to the table to get pieces of chocolate, and stuff her face when nobody was looking.

Lots of people kept going up to her to say how lovely she looks and to tell her happy birthday.

I couldn't think of anything but the way Jack has treated me the last few days, i think he likes me. Which I don't mind.

The party was going fantastically! I think I got to talk to all my guests except for Jack.

I haven't talked to him all night! Suddenly, the doors swung open and everybody stared at them.

Soon a little but loud voice exclaimed "Hi I'm Olaf! And I like warm hugs!" He swung out his arms, offering a hug to anybody.

I widened my eyes in horror, I shot out ice from my hands trying to freeze Olaf.

My aim was off, it almost hit someone in the head, again. Everyone started to scream and make their way out of the room, I tried to calm them.

My guests officially, out-vited themselves, each one scrambling to get to the door.

"Its okay everyone. It's an illusion of a talking snowman not real one, no way!" i said over the horrifying voices.

That was the worst story or excuse i could ever come up with.

The King and Queen came up to me and said "I know you tried hard to get this party perfect" the Queen started, with her hand on my shoulder.

"But it could have been better. And... The Southern Isles, will no longer trade with Arendelle." The king finished with a disappointing comment.

I knew the Queen was gentle unlike the king. They soon left as well, and the ballroom was empty.

"I- I don't understand?" I knelt onto the floor with my heart in my hands. Jack rushed over to me to comfort me.

"I'm so sorry Anna" I was crying heavily, so I put my head into Jacks's chest. He makes me feel more like myself.

"Elsa! What do you mean? It was the best birthday party I have ever had!" Anna said

"because- because all of you were here, I didn't need a party to make it the best birthday, I know you didn't mean to almost hit someone". She continued

Because my emotions were so strong, the beautiful ice on the floor covered the doors, it formed sharp icicles of the colour red throughout all of the room.

Jack's P.O.V

I could tell that Elsa was upset by the king's comment and that she failed to give Anna the best birthday.

I wrapped my arms around her to calm her. "I- I almost hit someone, again." She was still crying, her crystallised tears smashed on the floor.

Anna ran to go check if the door handles were iced over, which they were. "Were trapped, Kristoff commented.

Kristoff put his arm around Anna, i could tell that Elsa wanted to rage at Olaf. But i knew she would conceal her feelings.

Were trapped inside the ballroom for about half an hour. Anna had fallen asleep on Kristoff who were both leaning on the wall.

Elsa stared into my eyes and i stared into hers. She gave me a soft kiss on my lips and whispered to me "thank you, for everything"

I suddenly felt all happy inside. I felt like i was moving but not going any where. Her kiss was like one from an angel.

The spikes sank into the walls and the ice reduced into a large, pale blue snowflake and vanished, Elsa shot up from her position and walked up to her bedroom.

I later followed her, Anna and Kristoff were awake, I heard Them talking to each other down stairs. "Do you think I should see her?" I overheard Anna asking Kristoff.

I knocked on Elsa's door, I opened it to find that she was standing on her balcony.

I flew over so I was next to her. Elsa's tears had dried up, I brushed the thin wisps of hair out of her face. She was so still, it was as if I wasn't actually there.

"Anna's birthday was great, huh?" How can. I be so Stupid! I didn't think before I said that.

"Yeah, I guess. But I almost hurt someone" she mumbled in a dull tone. "It's not your fault." I tried to comfort her.

"Yes, Jack. It is. If I can't control my powers properly, I might as well-" she paused. "Conceal them" she walked inside and slipped on her turquoise gloves that were sitting on her dressing table.

I sat down on her bed, beside her. She put her head into the crook of my neck.

There was a knock on the door, the blue floral patterns on it were visible when Anna walked in the room.

Elsa was startled, she stood up and pretended that she was tidying her dressing table.

"Elsa?" I think she was trying to ignore her. "Elsa!" Anna raised her voice and she stared into Anna's green eyes. "I'll leave" I said in a calm tone.

"Thanks Jack" Anna smiled at me.

Anna's P.O.V

I noticed her gloves. "Elsa you don't have to wear your gloves because of one mistake" I tried not to raise my voice.

The air in her room became cold. Little snowflakes started to grow and fall to the floor.

"Yes Anna, I do. I need my kingdom to be safe" she started "from me" she finished in a dull tone.

"Look Elsa. W-we saved Arendelle, without you it would still be under sheets of snow." For several long moments I felt older. "You were brave Elsa."

Elsa turned around on her chair, she looked at me and said "you're right Anna, you know what, let's all go up to my ice castle tonight." Elsa suggested. "Sounds like fun" I replied.

We got Jack, Olaf and Kristoff and we made our way up the mountain. Jack beat all of us due to his 'flying abilities'.

"I have had such an amazing day, I will remember this birthday forever!" I had to tell Elsa, It wouldn't have been the best without her.

Elsa stopped in her tracks. She smiled and hugged me, as if she agreed as well.
