We woke up Sunday morning to hear Penelope talking to someone downstairs and I got out of bed and got changed into some street clothes. Cheryl got out of bed and slid into my arms after I finished tying my shoes.
"Love you, and good morning sweet Cheryl."
She smiled as I kissed her gently on both cheeks. "I better get dressed." She said.
"I'll be just outside your door."
"Okay." She kissed me before I left the room.
"Good morning Daniel." Nana Rose greeted. "Cheryl getting ready?"
"Yes, Nana." I replied.
"Good. I must say. You have been a good influence on her. And we desperately need some new blood around here."
"Thank you, Nana."
"Carry on." I bowed my head in response.
Not long after Nana Rose wheeled herself away. Cheryl came out of her room in a beautiful whitish blue blouse and skirt and a pair of jimmy chu heels.
We headed downstairs to see what was going on and we found the entire Blossom Family Board in the parlor waiting for Cheryl to come down and have a seat. I stood behind her as she sat in a Victorian style chair with a high back. One of her uncles gave me a questioning stare. I gave him my best try me if you dare stare. Which had him shaking in fear in mere seconds. The Blossom Board was apparently here to see what's going on and who I was. I felt that I didn't have to explain myself or why I was there. But it was getting rather cold which meant the tree tapping ceremony was just weeks if not days away. I watched each member of the Blossom Board as if they were about to try something stupid.
"So, Penelope, Cheryl. Who's this person standing at your backs like a personal guard?"
Cheryl spoke up for me as her mother kept quiet as if making the family wary about me. "This is Daniel Boyce. He's my bodyguard/valet/driver. And Nana Rose hired him for me."
"So Daniel. Tell us about yourself."
I cleared my throat before saying, "The only thing you need to know about me is that I will not tolerate un-gentlemanlike conduct or attitudes. So if you want to test me on this. Try me and you and I will go for a ride. And believe me when I say that I will teach you the meaning of hold your tongue." They looked at me with shocked expressions on their faces. "So. If you have anything bad to say about me or Cheryl. If you want to sneak around and try to keep it secret from us. You will not like the response I have in mind. So tell us to our faces or keep it to your grave." Cheryl smiled as I stepped back behind her. Penelope didn't like what I said but I didn't care what she thought. My only job was to make sure Cheryl had someone who would take out any threats to her safety or her life without hesitation or mercy.
After the initial meeting. Me and Cheryl went to Pops to just relax and have something to eat away from the Blossom Vultures.
"You've made quite the impression on my family." Cheryl said.
"Well someone had to." I grinned widely. We ate a burger, salad
and fries and a couple coke's and planned out the week before heading back to Thorn Hill.
It was quite the sight to see when we got back. Her family was scattered all over the house talking to themselves or each other.
Me and Cheryl were able to sneak by everyone. And just hang out on the veranda of course since it was cold. I took off my jacket and put it on Cheryl's shoulders. She gently gripped the inside of it and pulled it closer to her. "Thank you." She smiled.
"No problem." I grinned.
"Aren't you going to be cold?"
"No. I can last quite a while in cold temperatures without a jacket. Been that way since I was twelve. Even got a nickname out of it."
"Maybe You can tell me what it was one day." She leaned into me and I wrapped an arm around her. We just looked at the forested area around the house. When dinner started we joined the family at the dinner table. Her family talked amongst themselves mostly about business and the upcoming tree tapping ceremony. After me and Cheryl finished eating and 'hanging' with her family. We headed up to my room to plan for the week. "Ohh, I can't wait for this to be over." I nodded in agreement.
"Well remember. I'm right here for you."
"I know Dannykins."
After we planned everything out for the week. We got ready for bed, I set up on the floor and she slept on the bed.

The week went well all things considered. And we hung out with Archie, Betty, Veronica and Jughead. But when the tree tapping ceremony came around. The Blossoms found out why I was to be feared and respected than admired and loved.
