C H A P T E R THREE
"Venus?" She looked behind her seeing Brandon as she smiled but seeing him so serious, she frowned. "What's wrong?"
"Why did you tell Ivy.. we weren't a couple?" Venus felt herself freeze, trying to come up with an answer. "I didn't say that." Brandon sighed placing his hands on his face looking at the girl.
Venus gave a tight lipped smile, as she walked over to him. "I was just overwhelmed that he's back. You know, I never thought I'd see him again. He was your best friend too." She wrapped her arms around his neck as Brandon placed his on her waist pulling her close.
"Not after what he did to you, you know?" Venus sighed looking into his deep dark brown eyes she grown to love. "I don't think this is a good discussion." Venus had matured over the years, she was more calm and kind.
"I know. I just... I guess I'm just scared shitless." He laughed nervously as Venus smiled leaning in to kiss him. "Don't be, okay? You know me better than anyone." Brandon smiled, about to say something until the doorbell rang as Venus smiled, skipping down the stairs opening the door as Ivy let out a squeal. "Hi!" She yelled excitedly, barging in the house as Venus laughed at her friend's behaviour. "So no, your pervy big brother today?"
Ivy shook her head proudly. "No, I'm all yours!" Venus nodded looking behind her at Brandon with raised eyebrows. Ivy pursed her lips looking at Brandon. "You have a little something on your lips, B." Brandon almost choked on his spit looking at himself on the mirror, his lips stained with Venus' lipstick. Venus could only shrug innocently as Ivy sat down to the couch, feeling at home as Venus could only wonder about a certain boy -- or man?
