THIRTEEN

"Hi V." Venus turned in the bench as she smiled standing up to hug him which surprised him. She broke the hug immediately her eyes wide. "I.. uh.. sorry."

He shrugged her off, he knew he had to act differently. Of course he had changed after the whole situation, but he was still the one and only Richie Tozier.

"No problem. Really, I mean who wouldn't like to get their hands on you." He said bluntly as the two sat down, Venus rolling her eyes.

"Oh shut it." She said smiling as Richie let out a laugh. "I think we should talk about it. We both acted.. irrationaly." Richie shrugged, looking at the girl. He had missed her so much in the past year, and hearing that her and Brandon got together hit him like a brick.

"I know and it wasn't fair. I was a dick and so were you." He said smiling sweetly as Venus hit his arm playfully. "You were a bigger dick, Tozier."

"I know I have a bigger one." He said proudly as Venus scoffed. "But so did you."

Venus' cheeks went bright pink, as she hid behind her hair. "You suck Tozier, you really do." She said with a sweet, sarcastic smile.

"And again so did you." Venus hit him again as he laughed blocking her hits. "I want one chance V." He said seriously, as Venus sighed once Richie took her hand in his.

"You know that I can't." She said her heart breaking again, as her voice cracked. Richie sighed as he kissed her knuckles. "I don't want to let you go again." Venus closed her eyes before opening them again.

"I'm not yours Rich." She whispered as Richie looked at her, now his heart breaking. You could hear it if only you listened.

"I can't." She said slipping her hand from his. "I can't.." She whispered before standing up and walking away. As soon as she was as far away as possible, she started crying. Falling to her knees Venus cries her heart out, because she knew she was lying to herself.
