I turned around to see an old friend of mine... we aren't friends anymore. She had to move away, in like second grade haven't seen her since.

"Hey." I said swiftly then grasped my phone, and pursed my lips. "Listen, I have to go, my friend isn't feeling well."

"Bye" she said in a whisper. "Bye" I said back. "Friend?" Landen meant in a statement but said as a question. "Shut up, I needed an excuse to get away." I whispered to him.

I glared at him till' a nurse came to rescue him from my death stare. "Follow me" she said precisely, I followed them into a room.

She asked him questions while I got my phone out of my back pocket and started texting Cody.

Me: hey Cody, might not making it to school today Landen threw up blood
Cody: oh.. Landen?
Me: yeah... long story short he almost threw it all up on me gotta go kk
Cody: kk cya around
Me: Bye 🤘

I tuned back into their conversation, "Yeah, I felt a burning pain in my stomach." Cody barely said, while the nurse took notes on her lap top.

"Oh, that's not good" the nurse said. I kinda got worried. Wait. No. I shouldn't get worried, It's Landen... the guy that broke my heart.

Landen had a worried expression on his face. "This may mean you may have artery damage. Any incidents happen lately?" She asked tilting her head.

"Well.."Landen started in deep thought. "Yes actually, I was at a party and got in a fight with some guy, I remember him punching me in my stomach, and I had some terrible pain, also a while ago my doctor said I had a high blood pressure."

"That explains it." The nurse said with a plain expression on her face. "Well the doctor can prescribe you some medication, you're free to go-"

I cut into the sentence "Uh, no he isn't leaving, you just said artery damage this has to be minor... anything better then just give him meds and send him home?"

"Uh, okay sure!" The nurse said in an irritating way. "I'll get the doctor, he should be here shortly" she continued to the door as I mumbled "ok."

The door shut. Just me and Landen. Pure awkwardness. I raised my eye brow at him, "why did I even volunteer to bring you here?" I asked not expecting an answer.

"I don't know, why did you?" He said in reply, I gave him a really? Look then looked away trying to avoid eye contact.

I starred at the floor, with cold chills running down my spine like every ten seconds or so. The doctor came in mumbling something and then slurring.

I shot him a confused look and then realized how hard it must be, dealing with all these patients.

I just wanted to get out of here, go back home, and even finish homework or something. "Hello, I'm Dr. Stanzo you may know me I have seen you many times." The Doctor stated as he walked to his little seat.

"Let me just take your blood pressure." He shrugged. "125 thats pretty high" he sighed.

"Today I have to operate a surgery so I will schedule another appointment for the x-rays and see what you have." The doctor informed.

Me and Landen both nodded. As we walked out the door I whispered to the doctor "thank you" and smiled.

"Hey..." Landen started. "Can we hang out today? Are you free?" He asked "we aren't dating anymore." I pointed out.
