The sign read Welcome to Mystic Falls, as we passed it I smiled as I was ready for this new start. "Well here is our new place I hope you like it not alot of options in this small town", Dad said to me. I assured my dad I loved the house as I walked in to pick a bedroom to start unpacking. The room was beautiful as well as the house. After the hour of unpacking I waved my dad goodbye while I left to explore this new town.
I kept walking till I came upon The Mystic Grill, a drink would be nice after a long drive. As I as walking in I bumped into this Raven haired man, "Oops I'm sorry", "Watch it", we said simultaneously. I had a scowl on my face as I told him he didn't have to be rude, it was just an accident. He then looked up and was about to say something, before he seen my face and paused. "You're new here I haven't seen you around sorry I thought you were someone else." I shared a glance, but then just walked away. I do not deal with rude people. He chuckled and yelled, "I'm Damon by the way", before leaving. I shook my head not really caring as I made my way to the bar.
I called for the bartender and ordered a mojito, okay maybe more than one, but hey it's been a long day. I laid the money on the table and left to go home. As I was walking I seen the same raven haired man I mean Damon and he yelled for me to wait up. I waited for a second, but then thought of the reason my dad came here and ran all the way back home. For anyone with any sense of the supernatural could tell Damon was a vampire. Dad was asleep when I got home; I to turned in for the night. I had a big day ahead of me tomorrow.
Mornings, most people despised them, but I just felt refreshed when I woke up. I got up and took a shower before changing into my clothes (pictured above). I got in the car with dad as we drove to our new jobs at the school. He was the teacher and I was he teaching assistant. Alaric and Era Saltzman. It's a mouthful, I know. It doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. Saltzman is of German origins. My family immigrated here in 1755 to Texas. I, however, was born and raised in Boston. Now, the name Alaric belongs to a very dead great-grandfather I will never be able to thank enough. You'll probably wanna pronounce it Alar-ic but it's "Ah-lar-ic," okay? So you can call me Ric. I'm your new history teacher and this is your new teaching assitant. I should be embarrassed by my father's cringy speech, but hey you get use to it.
"Then I ended up at the remains of old Fell's Church before I woke up back in the woods", Bonnie explained to Elena. "And you always see your ancestor Emily? Huh. Do you believe in ghosts?" Elena questioned. Two weeks ago, I'd say no, but now I think I'm being haunted. "I don't get it. Why Emily? Grams said she was a powerful witch in the Civil War days". This medallion was hers. It's a witch's talisman It all started when you got the necklace? I think she's using it to communicate with me. What does Grams say about it? "I can't call her. She's gonna tell me to embrace it. I don't wanna embrace it. I want it to stop", Bonnie shivered.
I listened to their conversation seems quiet eerie to me. I looked away when they looked to see if anyone was listening in.
Jeremy came up, "Hey, Mr. Saltzman, I'm, uh I'm Jeremy Gilbert. You wanted to see me?" "Ahem. You know that your old teacher had a jackass file? No joke, it's, um, typed on a label. It has all the, uh, trouble makers in it. But really it's just an opus to you. Don't worry about it. I'm not him. Clean slate. Now let's talk grades", Alaric got serious. "I know, it's been a rough couple months but I've been trying to turn them around", Jeremy explained. "Yeah, I saw that, but the problem is we're halfway through a semester and half of fail is still pretty bleak", Alaric stated. This is the part where you say, "What can I do to change that?, I interrupted. I'm glad you asked. How do you feel about extra credit?" Yeah, yeah, totally. Whatever, Jeremy smiled. "Good. Write me a paper then", Alaric laughed. Okay, about what?, Jeremy asked. "History. Pick a topic. Keep it local. No Wikipedia regurgita", I smiled.
"These old towns have a lot of rich history so just get your hands dirty, make it sing and you're back on track. Deal?", Dad said laughing at me. "Uh, yeah, deal. That's a, uh That's a cool ring" Jeremy looked. "Oh, thanks. It was my father's. Heh. A little garish but family, you know. You've got a week", Alaric told Jeremy.
They kept up their conversation so I got up and left the room since class was over. I was walking down the hallway when I heard Damon bothering Bonnie.
"I'm gonna scream", Bonnie exclaimed. "Oh, no, don't do that. Let's stay on point. Listen, I want my necklace", Damon demanded. "You can't have it.", Bonnie took up for herself. "I can't take it, but you can give it to me; I'm trying to help you.", Damon whined. "I don't want your help", Bonnie scowled. "You do and you don't even know it. You've stumbled into something you need to stumble out of", Damon smirked. "Just leave me alone or I swear - Nope, no threats. Look, A, you hurt me last time, B, I wish you no harm. Believe it or not, Bonnie, I wanna protect you. Let me help you get Emily off your back", Damon interrupted. "How do you know?", questioned Bonnie. "I know a lot of things. I know more about that crystal than you do. And I know that she's using it to creep inside of you. Huh? See how scared you are? You should be, because I will get that crystal even if I have to wait for Emily to give it to me herself. So next time she comes out to play, you tell her that a deal's a deal", Damon threatened.
I ran over to them, but Damon was gone. Typical vampire if you ask me threatening a witch for their selfish needs. "Hey Bonnie, right?", I asked. She looked at me for a second wondering if I overheard. "Yeah, you're Era the new teaching assistant", she smiled. "I seen Damon threatening you, need me to kick his ass?", I joked. She gulped and asked if I had heard their conversation. I smiled as I assured her the supernatural was nothing new to me, and I also had ancestors who were witches on my dad's mothers side. She smiled and for the first time that day seemed relieved she wasn't alone.
I continued to talked to Bonnie until Elena and Caroline as I learned showed up. They invited me over to their girls night. I need to make friends they may be a little younger, but it works.
So I went home and got some PJs and heard that Jeremy invited dad to Elena's too. I drove us over and I rang the door bell, Jeremy answered inviting us in to the kitchen, where him and a pretty woman with strawberry blonde hair we're having a conversation. Have you picked a topic?", she asked. "No, not yet. It's gotta be local and non-lnternet research" Jeremy says before the woman interrupts,"That's easy, you got all your dad's stuff. All that family lineage from way back. Your dad really loved all that family history stuff. It's all boxed up in the closet."
They then take notice us standing awkwardly. "Mr. Saltzman.", Jermey says while smiling. "Jeremy, what's up, man?" "This is my Aunt Jenna. Alaric Saltzman." the woman now known as Jenna blushes, I smile." It's nice to meet you. Jeremy was just telling me about his paper. Thanks for giving him another chance."Oh, you know, it was my first day. I wanted to make a good impression. Ha-ha-ha", Dad flirted. I laughed, they would be cute together. Jenna notices me smiling and tells me it's nice to meet you too Era, you're daughter right? I answer with the one and only. She laughs and smiles I think we are going to be good friends. Her and Dad get to know each other a little better. They started talking about their past and he brought up my mother I left. She left a two years ago so why care?
As the night went on Bon, Care, Lena, and me got together alone. Currently, we are trying to contact Emily Bennett after the little fight they had. Alot of creepy stuff happened Bonnie just got up and walked out. We later discovered Emily was possessing her and destroyed the crystal Damon needed to get someone named Katherine out of the Tomb. Bonnie almost died, but Stefan who I found out to be Damon's vampire brother saved her with his blood.
I looked Damon and he have this sadness in his eyes and I felt kind of bad I said kind of.
A/N: So first chapter, not all chapters will have this much detail, because I really want to get to Klaus. I may speed up a few chapters, but if I do I'll do a recap. Thanks 😊 I'm redoing the whole story I feel like my writing skills were a lot sloppier when I wrote this, the plot is all over the place and I kinda hate some parts, some will stay the same, but a bunch of changes will also be added!
