Elena, Alaric, and I are walking through the tunnel in the cellar.

"So, the Lockwood's really have no idea that these tunnels are underneath their property?", I ask.

Alaric smiles, "Careful where you shine that thing. Bats hate the light."

Elena shivers, "Wait, what?"

Damon secretly comes up and whispers behind her, "Elena!"

She turns around and sees him, "Boo!"

She jumps from fright, "(gasp) Ah! God, Damon!"

I laugh at the scene in front of me.

Damon laughs, "Scaredy-cat!"

Alaric smiles, "Just ignore him. That's what I do."

Elena does so, "So, you really can't get in?"

"No. Seems even the ancient Lockwood's were anti-vampire", Damon huffs.

Elena squints, "What do you mean, ancient?"

Damon gestures forward, "See for yourself."

We walk further into the tunnels, to the cave with drawings on the walls.

Damon stops, "Well, this is as far as I get to go."

Elena and I enter the chamber and Elena shines her flashlight on the walls with the drawings. "What is all this?"

Alaric starts, "Well, as far as I can tell, it's a story. In simple, archaeological terms, it's a really, really old story." He points at the wall, "That right there, is the moon cycle." He points at another drawing, "A man, a wolf."

Elena stares at the drawings, "A werewolf." Damon yells, "Yeah, it's the "Lockwood Diaries: Pictionary-Style."

Elena gets confused, "I don't understand. I thought the Lockwood's came here with the Original Founders in the 1860's."

I look around, "I don't know. Maybe the Lockwood's did, but according to this wall, these werewolves have been here a lot longer than that."

"How long?", Elena asks.

Damon smirks, "Long. It gets better. Show her, Ric."

Alaric points to a drawing, "Names. They're not native. They're written in Runic, a Viking script."

Elena raises a brow, "Vikings?"

Alaric nods, "This name here, I translated it and it reads Niklaus."

That's Klaus, Elijah...and Rebekah, I decipher somehow as everyone looks at me confused.

A touch a symbol and its send me into a flashback to the 900's. Rebekah is using a knife to carve her name in Runic into the cave wall. Klaus is standing behind her, watching while holding a burning wooden torch. I am their with them, but they can't see me.

Klaus smiles, "Rebekah, let me have at it!"

Rebekah laughs, "Quiet, Niklaus! I am to have more concentration if I am not to slice off a finger."

Klaus whispers, "Father will not like you handling the blade."

Rebekah smiles, "If I want to wield a blade, I shall wield a blade! Father need not know."

Klaus shakes his head, "He will find out. He always does."

Rebekah rolls her eyes, "That is because you always tell him." Klaus shivers, "I cannot help it...he frightens me." Rebekah looks down, "He frightens us all. That is why we stick together as one, always and forever. Right, traitor?" She smiles. Klaus smiles back, "Right."
