"Son of a bitch!" Dean's voice echoed as he ran through the house, bounding around corner after corner. The man he was chasing was just barely out of his reach the entire time. He would have shot him, but he had some questions that had to be answered.
Just as Dean thought he was going to lose him again, the man gets knocked on his ass by a larger man who held a large shotgun out and clotheslined him. Dean smirks as he sees Sam step out from the corner, their eyes locking for a moment in silent recognition before returning to the gentleman on the floor.
*****1 Day Earlier****
"Hey!" Dean shouts as he begins pounding on the end of your and Sam's shared bed. "We got one. Let's go."
You roll over tiredly as Sam moans in exhaustion and begins to get up. You take a couple of seconds to adjust to reality before joining him. Within five minutes you are dressed and out the door.
Dean drives you up to a crime scene in the middle of town. Blood splattered across the road is the first thing to catch your eye, the large crowd building around it being second.
"Agents." The officer nods as you all walk into the scene, the tape bring lifted for you.
"Any clue what happened?" Dean asked as you and Sam walked over to the mangled corpse. Dean's conversation quickly faded as you and Sam sparked your own.
"He looks like he was hit by a bus." You frown as you crouch next to the body.
"Road rash." He points out plainly, lifting the arm to show you said wound.
"Looks like he has a broken leg," you poke the visable bone fragment with the end of a pen "and he probably died from blood loss or shock. Why is this our kind of case again?"
Sam opened his mouth to speak, but is left looking like a fish as Dean approaches. "Because there are no signs a car was involved. According to the sheriff this road was closed for roadwork. Needs it too, did you feel how badly baby was rattling all the way up here?"
You roll your eyes and stand, clapping your hands together to clear away any pretend germs that may have crossed your skin "So it's probably a hit and run."
"Nope." Sam sighs making you and Dean look over at Sam to see him toss a gold coin into the air. "Looks Celtic. Guess this is our kind of case." He sighs and pockets the coin, turning to leave.
"I can go question the Vic's Family." You sigh as you walk around the body and over to where Sam and Dean are standing.
"Ok. Sam, why don't you go with her? I'm gonna see if I can dig up anything about the area. It's looking witchy to me." You could see Dean's nose crinkle in disgust, making you smile.
"Ok. We'll meet you back at the room." Sam nods as Dean turns and walks away, quickly starting up his car and driving off.
The sun was starting to rise and it was rather nice outside, so you decided to walk. You and Sam didn't talk much, but it wasn't uncomfortable. The occasional comment about the case, then a few moments to contemplate it. Sam was caught watching you as you walked a couple times, making you smile.
Finally reaching the house, you knock and begin to pull out your ID when a loud crash echoed from inside. You and Sam both lock eyes before busting in, guns locked and loaded. You split up, searching each room. The bottom floor is clear, so you both carefully work your way up the stairs trying to keep the footfalls light and quiet.
Sam stops in front of the closed bedroom door, sliding to the wall on the other side as he prepares to open it. Mouthing a quick count down, he opens the door, both of you running in only to be blinded by a bright light.
The light was sudden and strong, knocking both of you out. As you felt your consciousness leave you, you felt heavier, like you suddenly we're bigger than your usually small frame. Your hair also bobbed in your eyes, which was also weird since you tied it back before this.
*********
You wake with a pounding headache, along with sore muscles everywhere. You groan as you try to force your eyelids to open, the darkness hard for your eyes to adjust to. Just as your eyes begin to focus, the door opens and floods the room with light."Hey, your awake finally." A familiar voice coos as you attempt to sit up.
"Dean." You groan, your voice sounding strange to.you, so you try to clear your throat which feels dry.
"Here, I brought you some water." He hands you a glass as he pulls up a chair next to you. You nod in thanks and gladly drink the water, the liquid instantly soothing your throat. "So what happened back there? When I found you guys you were passed out on the floor."
"We, uh..." You try to clear your thoat again, but your voice still sounds weird, yet familiar. You try to clear it again, getting a concerned look from Dean.
"Hey Sammy, you okay man?" He sets a protective hand on your shoulder.
"Sam?!" You yell, jumping from the bed and rushing to the mirror.
You don't expect to see Sam staring back at you. You should have realized how much taller you were, and it was no wonder you felt heavier with how muscular Sam is. His face matched yours as you look at it in shock and run your fingers through your hair. Oh goodness you were already acting like him.
"Dude, you are scaring me, what's wrong with you?" Dean stands, holding a cautionary hand out in your direction.
You turn quickly, not used to looking down on him. "Dean, it's me (y/n)."
"Excuse me?" He asks, giving you a confused look.
"(Y/n). You know, about yay big, (h/l) (h/c), (e/c) eyes. Come on Dean you know who I'm talking about." You can feel your nerves thrumbing through you.
"Wait, did you and Sam..." His eyes locked with yours in silent communication, both if you rushing out to your room.
You open the door to see you are still asleep on your bed, though you find for some reason you are sleeping on your stomach. Other than that, you can see your body breathing so you know it's alive. You creep closer, not used to how loud you are when you walk so it's a bit difficult.
Suddenly your body rolls over with the gun you keep under your pillow aimed directly at you. Your eyes widen, along with Sam's as you both eye each other.
"Sam, don't shoot. It's me, (y/n)." You whisper, trying to comfort him.
"(Y/n)? Why the hell do you look like me?" He asked, still aiming the gun at you.
"Put the gun down." You nod towards the offending weapon, Sam quickly putting the safety back on and putting it under the pillow again. With a deep breath you continue. "Remember when we went into the house? How there was a loud noise so we went in?"
You see your body nod, God this is trippy. "Yea. We tried to break into a room, but were knocked out by a bright light. You don't mean..."
"We switched bodies." You huffed as you rested your hands on your hips.
"Son of a bitch."
