As soon as she opened the door to the intermarry Aryanna was hit the stench of antiseptic. Which in her mind always was linked with death, since in this room she had seen so many fellow shadowhunters die.
Only one of the cots had an occupant. Tommy looked even paler in the pure white room. His face would scrunch up every so often in a look of pain in while he slept.
As Aryanna got closer, she could see the giant cotton bandage covering Tommy's frail shoulders. She sat down and reached out for Tommy's hand. His skin was scorching hot, compared to his normal cool skin.
At feeling her cooler skin touching his, Tommy stirred from his slumber.
"Ary, is that you?"
"Yeah I'm right here." She paused trying to push back her tears from hearing his voice so filled with pain.
"Ary, it hurts."
"I know Tommy."
"I'm going to become one of them aren't I." He waited for her response but was only met with silence. "I'm so sorry Ary that I wasn't strong enough to fight of the wolf. I'm never going to get the chance to be a shadowhunter as good as you. Mom, Dad, and everyone else are going to turn their back on me. Ary I'm scarred."
"Tommy, you have nothing to sorry for, and I'm not going to ever turn my back on you, and you have nothing to fear. The local pack is going to be sending someone to help you through the shift. Through every step of this I'm going to right here for you."
"Ary I love you so much."
"Aryanna it's time to let Tommy rest some more." Aryanna's mother called.
"Ary please don't leave" Tommy begged.
"Tommy you need your rest. I promise I'll be back tomorrow."
"Promise"
"Promise" Aryanna bent over and kissed Tommy's forehead, and left the room.
Aryanna kept her promise and spent every moment that she wasn't training with Tommy. Three days passed and finally Lance showed up.
He was actually really nice to look at, if he wasn't a werewolf like her brother was going to be soon, she would defiantly go and talk to him. He had a silent draw to him.
Aryanna's mother had called her down to the main dinning room to meet them. Lance sat across from me but was weird. As soon as she walked into the room, he tensed.
They sat down, Lance across from her, but he wouldn't look up. He wouldn't even eat. His breathing was funny. It was hollow but it was nice, in a scary way at least.
"Are you not hungry," Her father said to Lance, rolling his eyes.
"I ate," he stuttered lowly," I, uh, ate earlier, sir."
"Oh," the father chuckled," long journey, of course."
We ate in silence and everyone went to leave except for Lance, weird. Dr. Morgan told everyone to just leave, he told them that werewolves had these problems sometimes, but they don't.
Aryanna didn't know why but after about five minutes, she went back down to the dinning hall.
"Are you sure your okay," Aryanna said going to sit by Lance.
His eyes finally looked up to meet hers. They were actually really mesmerizing, blue like pools of metallic. Blond hair flowered, swayed in motion on his head. It was a nice face, she thought, chiseled features, stone cold.
"Did you say something," Aryanna whispered, thinking she must've heard something, maybe it was 'the trace of her heart picking up.
"You need to leave," Lance said turning his eyes to actually begin roaming over her until they finally snapped back and he growled.
Aryanna didn't know what too do, She left stuttering a sorry and shrieking back at his response to her kindness. It hurt to have someone refuse your help, especially a stranger. No matter, she was a shadowhunter. Lance was but a downworlder.
She went to Tommy's room for a bit then returned to her own. She was quite tired after everything lately.
