My Strange Encounter

I'm just going to start with saying I love Call of Duty. I've been hooked since World at War. Every now and again, I like to re-live some of the older CoD games and take in their glory. Well, I used to.

One day, I just felt like playing some MW2, so I put the disc in and booted the game up. I don't know why, but I was getting some weird feeling. Oh, wait, nevermind. That's just a burp.

I entered the Multiplayer section and hit "Play Online". I felt like a challenge, so I picked the game mode "Hardecore Ricochet Search and Destroy". (When you have my skill level, basically any hardcore game mode is a challenge) The one thing I have to complain about is the wait time for a lobby. Now that almost no one plays the older games, it can take a while to get into a match.

Finally, I connected to a lobby. They were already in a match, so I couldn't see who was there. The map loading screen popped up. (It was Terminal, awesome!) Everything seemed normal, until the map was done loading.

The screen cut to the between-rounds screenshot of the terminal itself, but everything was tinted red. There was no scoreboard, even when I tried to toggle it up. The score bar at the top was there, but both team's score was just a hyphen. After about 10 seconds, the match ended and I was kicked to the 'intermission menu'.

There was only one other guy there, but his screen name was corrupted. Each letter looked like a tiny "Missing No." from the older Pokémon games. Another 10 seconds passed. I was only still in the lobby because it wouldn't let me leave. I was just about to pull the plug, (The power button didn't work either) when the other person plugged in a mic. (I knew he did because the little speaker icon popped up) He "spoke", but not in words. Instead, just a high-pitched giggling came from my speakers, sort of like the LoZ: Majora's Mask Happy Mask Salesman. (No, I'm not referencing BEN) Then, my screen went dark.

When it came back, I was at the game's main menu. Nothing changed, but I immediately turned off my system. Needless to say, I didn't touch that game for a while after that incident. After I did start to play it again, I connected to normal lobbies, and never saw that strange person online again. I do have two questions though...

Who was he and why can't I delete him from my Friends list?
