Chapter 4
Since my mom is working double shifts I have to walk home. It doesn’t really bother me because the cool air helps my headache.
I'm already two blocks away from the school when I hear my name being called. "Hey Harper... Wait up!!!!" I turn around and see Sam running towards me. She stops in front of me, “What’s wrong Sam?" I ask.
"I wanted to tell you that I got my learners permit today. And that my mom said she'll drive with us to the mall, this weekend." I think about every student has a learners permit or a drivers license in this school, well accept the ninth graders.
“Cool. That'll be awesome because I got like 40 bucks I need to use to by new clothes," I tell her. I see her moms’ big van turn the corner. “Well, I guess I'll talk to you later." She smiles and says, "Yeah I'll call you.”
When I get home I decide to keep walking. I go inside to set my bags down and then start walking. I keep thinking about my dad now, and I sort of blame Sam. Was he the one in my dream?
