Fever
My eyes open, but I feel as though they have been shut for years. My bones ache, my back right leg feels like its been snapped in two. I try to get up but I stumble. My legs are stiff, and I realize that I'm covered in dried mud and leaves. How long have I been out?
I limp over to a little pond. Looking at the reflection in the water, I see dry mud and some dried blood. I drink some water then look around. These woods are unfamiliar to me. Even in the daylight, I don't know where I'm at. I need to know which way I came from. But the risk is deadly. The beast and the human could be around the area watching and waiting for the white monster to come out so they can finish her off.
I'm not letting that happen.
I begin making my way through the unfamiliar woods. The sun shines bright, birds are singing their songs, making their ways down south for the winter season thats making its way into Canada. Winter always came fast in Canada. It was the season where there is more trouble.
I find myself on a clear trail, i sniff the ground, and sure enough, its safe. So I make my way down the trail. Golden, brown, red leaves fell to the ground, leaving tree branches naked and boring. The sun light made the leaves more vibrant and the left over wetness from the rain made everything sparkle. They all flew past me like little tiny dancers. I really wish I could stop and savor every moment here, but there was no time. No matter what, I was being watched, tracked, targetted.
I stop for just a second though.
The beauty of these parts of the woods remind me how I am now. Even though how I am now isn't what I really wanted to be. But everything happens for a reason. And apparently, there is a reason for this. I don't know what though.
Crunch, crunch.
My thoughts and memories are interrupted by a figure in front of me.
Rose
Whenever I would go on this trail, I would see everything. Rabbits, birds, snakes, bugs, anything you can think of. But I never thought that one day I'd experience this. I didn't know what to do. If I ran what if she ran after me? If I stood here, would she attack me still or just run off? Any movement would be fatal either way. I didn't want to leave though. I wanted to get near a wolf once in my life. And this time in my life, there was this wolf that I have watched through my windows since two years ago when she first appeared.
I slowly crouch down, the leaves beneath me break the silence. I hold out my hand. In front of me, was a dog like creature. Fur was covered in dry mud and little branches, right hind leg was covered in dry blood. Through the dirt and blood was white fur. But what distinguished her, was her eyes. One crystal blue eye. One golden apple yellow eye. Our eyes met. I don't know what this feeling was, but it wasnt fear, nor adreneline.
She looks at me for a minute, and slowly approaches. She moved swiftly but slowly. The leaves underneath her hardly make a sound. She put her nose to my hand and sniffed it. It tickled my hand as I held it there for her.
She nudges my hand, I put my hand on her snout and up to her head and pet her. She approaches closer to me. I'm actually near a wolf.
Fever
The first time in years since I've ever came this close to a human. Something about her seemed promising. Her brown eyes seemed to show care and sympathy, but also a broken heart. She had tan skin, and beautiful blondish-brownish straight hair that went past her shoulders. She pet my head softly, she finally stopped.
"You're so dirty... What happened to you, girl?" She says softly. She examines the dirt and dry blood that covers my body. I just look at her. I don't know how to respond. "I wish I could help somehow. But, I don't know how. I could take you home, but I don't think you would want to do that. I don't think my mom would apreciate the fact I brought in a wolf thats covered in mud."
