Rose.
I couldn't believe what I heard. Years ago, I heard about a girl that had disapeared from her hospital bed and a wolf was found just outside her window with broken pieces of glass everywhere. I didn't give uch thought about it until it was right in my face. Athena was Fever. Fever was Athena. I'm talking to someone who was forced to live this life.
The week she had disapeared/changed into a wolf, it was the talk of the school and town. From what I heard, she was born into a rich family. She lived in a mansion, two pools, 10 expenisive forgein cars, and 3 siblings. She was really beautiful. Long black hair, maybe past her shoulders, hazel eyes, that were normaly light blue-ish-grey, or gold-ish brown, which probably explains why her wolf form has one gold eye and one blue eye. She was pretty much the perfect girl for modeling. She wasn't too thin, or too chubby either. Her voice was beautiful. I'd date her, if she wasn't a wolf (or straight.) She was pretty much what all girls want to look like.
I felt sorry for the accident and all, but it just didn't effect me as much as some people. But now, in front of me, is the girl with a stolen life. She's living a lie. She's not supposed to be a wolf. She shouldn't even know me.
"I'm so sorry... Uh, do I still call you Fever?" Asking as I walk over and sit on the grass next to her.
"Yes. I mean, that's the name my wolf mom gave me." Staring off into the distance. The pain in her eyes made it hard to be near her, I just put my arm around her, to comfort her.
"Who's your wolf mom?"
"She's not around here, she lives in the woods thats near Connor and Dresden's area. Her name is Paris. She is a grey wolf. My wolf dad is Santiago, he's a black wolf like Dresden. They're brothers. They seperated into different packs once they were 2 years old. There is also Nevaeh, Willow, Silver, and Arcade. That's my wolf pack. They were the most welcoming pack. But then again," she looked down, "They had their lives stolen from them too. Dresden and Santiago had it worse."
Sitting there in silence, we watch birds fly about, and the long grass move against the wind that was getting colder. The sun was lowering earlier and earlier each day. "I think I should get home." I get up, stumble a little bit, and wipe my butt off of any leaves or loose grass.
"Alright. I'll go walk with you. Just in case Dresden is anywhere near."
We walk back to the house. Side by side. I've never had a dog. But Fever was pretty damn close to a dog I've always wanted. Loyal, friendly, and most of all, protective.
"So you've heard my story, what about you girly? What's your life story?" Fever asks, looking up at me with her hyptonizing eyes that looked like they were glowing in the darkness.
"There's not much to say. I'm sixteen, gonna be seventeen on January 25. I enjoy bands like Cobra Starship, Panic! At The Disco, Mariana's Trench and Fall Out Boy. I like all types of music though, I'm not the most popular, I'm pretty much made fun of in school. I'm also forever alone because no girl likes me or is lesbian or bi. Well, one girl is bi, and thats my best friend, who has pretty much friend-zoned me. I don't know, I've been through a tough break up recently. And I'm not as pretty as you used to be." I start picking up my speed, put my hood up and put my hands in my hoodie pockets.
The one thing I left out was that I cut and almost tried to commit suicide at one point. I haven't had suicidal thoughts, or self harmed, in about 4 months. But ever since a week or two ago, I went back to using a knife to my wrists to take my mind off my troubles. I was with this girl who lived in a totally different town. I'd drive to her house almost every weekend. We were a thing for about a year and three months until I found out she cheated on me with a guy. With all the bullying, this heartbreak and my mom's depression that is dragging me along with her, I can't stand to be alive right now. I wish I had a dog to be there to let me cry on and listen to my problems. But my mom never got the time or money to get one.
