Katy goes home at 8:00 leaving me in the dark, cold apartment. My thoughts trail off.

What would happen if I killed myself? Would anybody notice my absence? My eyes suddenly dart towards a sharp cutting knife on the counter from this morning.

I pick up my phone and walk over to the kitchen to turn on the light.

"Hi do you have any specials for today?" I ask the pizza place on the phone.

"Yeah ok. I'll take a medium pepperoni pizza with a liter coke"

I say my address and apartment number. I hang up and wait silently for the pizza. This should take awhile... I try to call one of my other friend that lives a bit away.

"Hello?"

"Ahh James! It's been so long since we talked! So how's life treating ya?" I wait for his response only to hear that his grandmother died so he isn't in a mood to talk.

"Oh I'm so sorry! Well, things happen. I mean look at me. I'm all alone in an apartment waiting for Papa John's to deliver. Haha" I heard him slightly chuckle.

We say our goodbyes as he must go. Damn parents always making their children do dishes and what not.

A loud knock on the door finally could be heard. Yas, I'm hungry.

"A medium pepperoni with a liter coke that's $7.38"

I hand him 10 dollars and set the pizza on the counter top.

"Thank you!"

I close the door. A hum a slight tune I randomly make up as I go. I turn on the tv to watch.

"Storm alert, Chad, what's happening?" The weatherman says.

"In about an hour the rain coming from the east side will move over here, causing great flooding and hail about the size of quarters. Power is sure to go out so make sure you have a flashlight on hand."

"On to tomorrow the storm continues as it hovers above our town. Wind is going to be outrageous 45 mph. Be aware for destruction. The storm should clear up around late noon. Stay safe"

Damn. I should call Katy to make sure she is going to be ok.

I pick up the phone.

"KATY" "THERE IS A STORM COMING. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS"

She fails to answer correctly a few times so I go ahead and say, "No, staying up all night talking about life!"

She tells me about how she already planned to do that with her boyfriend.

I angrily hung up. Thats the first time ever in years that we aren't going to be able to talk to each other on a stormy day. For the past I don't know, nine years, every, single, storm, we talked or texted. Today is the day she chose her boyfriend to talk to ON A STORMY NIGHT-

The first sound of thunder can be heard. After a few seconds rain is pouring. Well at least I ordered pizza before the rain started.

An unexpected call came up. An unfamiliar number popped up. I decide to ignore it since I knew all the numbers that were important.

They left a text. Lilly call me back when you have a chance. I wanna talk about some things...

I stare at the message. My finger hovers over the call button. Should I? It has been pressed.

"Um hello?" I put it on speaker mode.

"Lilly! Long time no talk huh?" I didn't recognize the voice

"If you don't mind, I ask for your name?"

"That doesn't matter Lilly, what matters is I have your life on my palm. Come see me now. Or else your life will shatter on the ground by me dropping it"

"Why? What are we going to do?" I ask. My heart is racing.

"Oh don't worry about that now. I'll send you the address to the meet up spot. I will be wearing all black. I look forward to seeing you. And wear your best underwear and bra"

He hangs up then soon after tells me the address. I look back at the tv and stand up. I search up the address on maps and it's a fancy restaurant?

I stare at my wardrobe looking for the right clothes. Perfect? I Walk over to the bathroom and put my black hair in a messy bun and leave.

Why?
