Chapter 3: The Change

I finished my homework by the end of May, which I was so glad to finish. I had everything done and I was just walking around outside, not knowing how far I was from the Diggory's house. Cedric was having a hard time doing his homework, and I even asked him if I could help with it. Apparently, he only said no and that he needed to concentrate on it, leaving me alone.

I didn't really mind about that much, anyways. I just wanted to find something to do since I was completely bored out of my mind. Nothing was working either. Of course, I usually wouldn't even talk to people at all because I actually liked being alone. Except, when I'm bored, I wanted to do something that will keep the boredom away. It was getting on my nerves and was getting me stressed out.

Ron and his family were already in Egypt so I couldn't hang out with him, unless I wanted to send him letters, which meant that I had to wait for a reply either way. I haven't even called Harry yet either. Apparently, the Diggory's don't even have a telephone yet. They said they would be getting one soon, but I don't know when exactly.

I was wondering around aimlessly through the forest, just looking around and getting to know this place better in case I wanted to visit it again. Aunt Diggory told me to watch out for something, but I was hardly paying attention to catch on to what she fully said. Yeah, it was stupid to not to listen, but I guess I just had something else on my mind.

It was a good thing I was wearing light clothes because of the hot weather. I was wearing one of those loose plaid shirt that was baby pink and red in color with a black tank top underneath. Fortunately enough, I was wearing jean shorts as well that was about an inch or two above my knee. Unfortunately, I had on these terrible black sandals that Aunt Diggory let me borrow, and they really were terrible too. I could hardly walk in them at all as they ached my sore feet. They probably had blisters on them by now. They would slip off my feet so easily, and when I tried to walk without them it was too late and it hurt even worse when I tried to walk without those awful demon shoes on.

Let me just say, the forest was absolutely beautiful right now. I'm not even joking, the nature was just perfect and had this wonderful earthy smell and it sounded so peaceful. I just loved it! I walked around everything, hoping not to miss a single glimpse as everything was just so breath-taking. The view was surrounded by hundreds of trees and tall grass and it looked extravagantly fresh too. Cherry blossoms and willows were everywhere it gave us this warm spreading glow all around the forest just making everything seem so alive. All different types of birds were singing elegantly as they chirped a song, and guess what? I didn't see any annoying bug anywhere by far.

I suddenly realized that I didn't know how late it was getting. It would be getting dark pretty soon and the sun was already going down. Oh for Merlin's sake, I had to get out of here! It would be getting colder soon as well. Wait a second, didn't I leave just right after lunch? Of course! But how was I gone for that long?! Then I just now noticed something, I haven't even been paying attention of what direction I was going in, and I didn't even know where I was. Everything just looked the same as it did before a hundred times!

Uh oh. . . .

I quickly turned around to get out of the forest, but I had absolute no clue where I was at, so I didn't know how to get out. I'm completely lost! Now, it's getting darker by the second and the sky was turning to a nightly shade of blue. This isn't good. I have to get out of here. But which way do I even go?!

I began running into a direction not knowing if it was the right way or not. My feet were killing me and felt like they were going to give out at any second. Soon enough, I had myself panting and my lungs were about to give out. I rested myself against a tree to catch my breath. While doing so, I looked around my surroundings to see if anything looked familiar. Nothing. For a second I thought I saw a shimmer of a glow in the distance, like a white light.
