Chapter 8: Spills the Secret
You don't know how bad I wanted to hurt Draco at this moment. He was trying to force me to go to Hogsmeade when I didn't even want to. What does he not understand? I just didn't want to go! I didn't want to leave Harry all by himself while everyone else went.
I stayed with Harry as the others went to Hogsmeade and Hermione and Ron bid us farewell. "You didn't have to stay with me, Aquila. You could've gone with everyone else. I would have been fine on my own." Harry said. I smiled at him.
"Well, I'm going to stay with you and keep you company. Not to worry, Harry, I'm going to stay with you! You don't have to be alone. We can still have fun without them." I said.
"Well, alright then," Harry said. "What do you want to do?"
"We could go play some wizard chess if you want to? Or, you and me can think of ways to prank the others." I smirked. He agreed on the second one. So we began to walk off down a corridor when we heard our name being called. I turned around to see Professor Lupin.
"What are you two doing? Where are Hermione and Ron?" Lupin asked.
"Hogsmeade," Harry and I said.
"Ah. Why don't you two come in? I've just taken delivery of a grindylow for our next lesson." Professor Lupin said.
"A what?" Harry asked.
"A grindylow," I told Harry.
"I heard what he said, I just don't know what it is." Harry said. Harry and I followed Professor Lupin in his office. In the corner of my eye I saw a tank of water with a grindylow that looked to be an ugly green creature with little horns.
"Water demon. We shouldn't have too much difficulty with him, not after the kappas. The trick is to break his grip. You notice the abnormally long fingers? Strong, but very brittle." Professor Lupin said.
"I've read about them," I said.
"Did you now?" Lupin asked with a soft smile towards me. "Cup of tea? I was just thinking of making one."
"All right," Harry said.
"Sure," I said as well. Professor Lupin tapped the tea kettle with his wand and steam blasted from the spout. Well, that was pretty cool. I should try doing that sometime.
"Sit down, I've only got teabags, I'm afraid - but I daresay you've had enough of tea leaves?" Professor Lupin said. I knew it was directed towards Harry though, by what happened with the tea cups. I still think it's just a load of rubbish. Yeah, like Harry was to die that quickly.
"How did you know about that?" Harry asked.
"Professor McGonagall told me. You're not worried, are you?" Professor Lupin said as he handed us our tea. I told him thank you and smiled as if it was a reply.
"No," Harry said. I looked at Harry as if he was not telling truth, as if why would he not? His face was telling the complete opposite.
"Anything worrying you, Harry?" Professor Lupin asked.
"No," Harry said and I knew that he was lying. "Yes. You know that day we fought the boggart?"
"Yes," Professor Lupin said.
"Why didn't you let me fight it?" Harry asked.
"I would have thought that was obvious, Harry." Professor Lupin said. Lord Voldemort? Hehe, Lord Voldy. I still got it down.
"Why?" Harry asked.
"Well, I assumed that if the boggart faced you, it would assume the shape of Lord Voldemort." Lupin said. "Clearly, I was wrong. But I didn't think it was a good idea for Lord Voldemort to materialize in the staff room. I imagine that people would panic."
