Jo's Past Haunts Her Once Again

Chapter 12

Alex's POV
As soon as I made the call I rushed to the hospital although I knew that by me speeding I could cause an accident I didn't care. All I could think about was Jo how couldn't I tell it was her. The bruises on her face where still terrible being there for a week. She was in the hospital for a whole fucking two weeks and I couldn't tell it was her. As I got to the hospital I parked my car and went to the nurses station and asked about Jo. "IM LOOKING FOR JO WHERE IS SHE PLEASE TELL ME SHES FINE. SHE HAS TO BE FINE PLEASE." ALEX! I turned around at the mention of my name and saw Stephanie crying I went up to her as my tears threatened to fall. "How is she Stephanie", I asked. "She's in surgery they found a bleeder in her brain", she said crying. I couldn't believe what I had just heard sitting down I tried to keep calm I knew that they had the best people there and that they were going to save her.

Stephanie's POV
As we sat in silence waiting for someone to come and tell us that she was fine I remembered about the news articles that I had read. Jo's husband had gotten out of jail since they didn't believe a ten year old. He was to go to court once more in two months where Paige's mom will have to testify, and his current wife Jo. He's out I said as my voice came out as a small whisper. I know is all he said as we both got lost in our own minds again. She was going to be okay we all knew she was strong. What if I never accidentally called Alex? Will those seconds have affected her? Was she breathing fine? Will she wake up now? Will she still be in a coma? Is her baby okay? Who's the father? How far along is she? Why didn't she tell me she was pregnant? I wonder what Alex is thinking if some of the questions are the same as mine.

Alex's POV
As Stephanie and I sat in silence I couldn't stop the question from flowing into my mind. How many times did he hit her? Is the baby okay? Am I the father of the baby? Did he rape her? Did she know she was pregnant before she left? If so, why didn't she tell me? Jo honey why didn't you call. Where were you all this time? Why didn't you never answer your phone? My thoughts were interrupted as I saw Amelia and Meredith walk out the doors towards us. I sat up and tried to read there faces. They were both serious where they both about to tell me the worst news in my life? Or where they about to tell me she was fine? "I was able to find the bleeder and stop it. The baby's heart beat is unsteady we will keep an eye on it. She will wake up but we don't know when", Amelia said. Tears stared to fall making it noticeable to everyone and before I could speak Stephanie asked what room she was in. Once they told us we ran and made our way to see her.
