The sun shines through the shadowing trees in front of us , like a flashlight being showed through a thick wool blanket. Damian shadows his eyes , as though he was going blind , reminding me to purchase sunglasses sometime.
" how far are we ?" He asked
" about 3 quarters through the mountains . So 53 miles . We can take camp on the last peak of the mountains, I hear there's a little preset camp there. "
He just says an ok and we continue on in silence . That's when I stop in my tracks . There was a ruffling in the trees
I whisper to Damian " don't move a muscul , when I say run, run as far and fast as you can "
He gently nods . Then , the beast emerges. A horrible creature, with rather long legs and a total black face . It handed me a flower, which I backed away from.
" run . " he looked at me and nodded , before slipping through the abis
